You say that in jest, but it that is actually probably close to the truth. Moltzen was rated as highly as Brooks and Moses and was supposed to be the next best thing. He started 2009, the first season without Hodgo, at fullback.

I am definitely not in the know. I'm just your average member. But I hear often that our club lacks 'soul' and 'culture' and history. Bringing people in from our championship era to talk about what makes Wests Tigers great, what it took to win a GF and how proud players felt to wear the Tigers jersey and parade as champions MUST be good for developing our culture and future success. I think bringing Hodgo back is a brilliant move!

I thought Brett started in third grade/Under 23's, as a half-back. I remember one of his early games at Campbelltown, if not his debut, Wests Magpies won a scrum about 30 metres out on our left hand side. He ran around the scrum base to the blind side and cut through to score without having a hand placed on him. He was lightening fast in those days.
Great to see this champion back in the fold.

Blake Lazarus was earmarked to take Hodgson spot…in 2008..

Guys don't listen to me! I'm a punter and a crazy fan. I don't know what I am talking about. I may think that Liam Fulton or Gareth Ellis were the best forwards around in 2008\. Payten sounds like a great idea for a head coach, just give him the ball and get him to run out when were a man down. Benji Marshall warps the speed of light a little... I see things through tiger eyes. Don't listen to me or take these ideas seriously, please....

Oh, you hired Hodgson for the role... Good Job Carry on.

This is quite possibly Ivan Cleary's most amazing signing! To have one of the greatest Weststigers players as part of our club again with all his knowledge, experience and credibility is sheer class from IC! Well done!

It's good news mate, was hoping they would announce it soon.

Really hasn't been announced officially yet, just through the media at the moment.

Not sure how great his coaching ability is but he's a dead set Lord of a human. Between him and Ivan if we don't turn Tui into an 80% or better kicker and a gun FB than I'll saunter down Pitt Street during the lunch time rush is a Roosters jersey.

It's good to see a club legend back at the club, but I'd really go easy on calling Cleary a genius and calling it his best signing. I mean I love the guy, but as a coach, he's an unknown so it makes no sense for people saying it's a great signing.

Easily my favourite player at this club, just wary about what will happen if results don't ensue. Really wouldn't like to see Hodgo treated the way Manly treated Toovey (granted Toovey was head coach, just that I would hate to see Hodgo unceremoniously dumped.)

Very good news. We should have full-back play and goal kicking covered with Hodgo and Ivan.

I used to love the play "double pineapple" I think it was one of Sheens plays which involved Hodgo.
Someone with a better memory might know more.
