I think its a terrific idea,it should be sustainable and well organised if PVL has had so much to do with it...
theres nothing like playing for a club and watching the young guys develope...
back in my days playing at Turvey Park in Wagga,we had 4 games a day..
u/16,u/18.reserves and firsts..
it was a great family day out,it was especially great if it was a local derby played at Wiessel Oval..
Turvey Park v Kangaroos etc..
Wagga had 4 city clubs at that time.TP,Roos,Magpies and Brothers...
Mind you that was 1980/90..I left TP in 1986..

Love it. Wiessel was the best when heaving for derby or grand final. Growing up it was awesome playing u16 before the big fellas.

Unfortunately, Wiessel is gone. And Maggie's and Turvey merged to South Wagga Bulls.

Thanks mate for the input...its been many years since I was back there...Wiesel oval was the Magpies and Kangaroos home ground,Turvey Park had Harris Park at Turvey Park as a home ground...Things change over the years as we all know,but my fondest memories when playing was running out on to Wiesel oval from under the grandstand and you were greeted by anywhere between 2000/3000 spectators on a regular local derby day....fantastic memories and good times...I will say that my time in Wagga,I met many ,many wonderful people and many of my friends from there even now ask me when Im coming home...cant praise the City of Wagga enough....
I was honoured enough back in 1996 to be invited to the weekend of champions for dinner drinks and festivities,not blowing my own wistle,but Steve Mortimer,Greg Brentnall,Pete Stirling were all there ....It was a weekend I wont forget for a very long time....

Well at least I could use the loo paper Hap ...you and Hobbo were used to using gum leaves....as far as the birds and the bees goes,no doubt you would have had plenty of two headed experiences over time...lucky Hobbo knows what to do...:kissing:
