A small crowd at the 9s?
What? 3k less than the world 9s that was in rugby league heartland with triple the population.
Very meek leadership.

Exactly. Not to overlook the fact that it was pushing 40° both days, the 1st day was on a Friday arvo when most people are still at work.
And the overwhelming reason for "poor attendance" is the undisputable fact that the 9's comp is a pathetic Mickey Mouse tournament that has little appeal to anyone. Who would pay upwards of $60 to go and watch that rubbish? Could barely stomach watching it on the TV in the comfort of air-conditioning with a cold slab of beer.
Normal NRL matches, Test matches and last year's Origin game have crowds that match other states.
Buzz is a sozzled imbecile that should have been sent into the ether years ago.

Yeah, they set the kick off time to suit east coat tv viewers then whinge about the lack of people at the venue.

Fix the game first before you go adding new teams.

We're screwed then because nothing is getting fixed.

The best line I've heard as to the current state of the game. It's stuffed, hard to see it getting back to being an even playing field for a long, long while if ever.
Whilst Greenberg and his posse of imbeciles gloat about how the sport has 'never been better' we are in strife.

Anyone know a bookie? Simon’s tried (sarcasm alert)

Can’t be worse than AFL giving leg ups to GWS. They have 20k members and go ok

Partially growing up in QLD, I just can't see a second team in Brisbane being successful in terms of attracting fans. No current Broncos fan will likely switch allegiances and most young new fans are likely to support the team their family has supported since the 80s....

That's why you put it in Ipswich ..both cities hate each other and Ipswich fans of Brisbane will switch

I had hopes for V'Landys but he doesn't want to go into rusted on AFL states. Because the storm have done so bad the last 20 years, compared to say, the gold coast.

Reckon he’s picking off the weak states and going from there. Queensland shouldn’t play AFL.

Having fully grown up in Brisbane/QLD and still having a good feel for the place i really think you are wrong.

The city has been crying out for another team since the Crushers got shafted. The anti Bronco hate is high throughout the South East region.

Titans would already be a very well supported club if they werent so useless.

Its all about the coach, they get a Bellamy or a Bennet and theyll set the place up right from the start and SE Qld will embrace them.

i would say another team in NZ....

but that would mean more games with NZ commentators............ annoying........

But it doesn't fix the problem of too many sides in Sydney still

At least one more side has to be relocated imo and that is how you have to go if you go back to Perth /Adelaide

I'm still interested to see how a sporting Franchise would go in Darwin to be honest

Cronulla will go on a couple of years now that the NRL won't bail treams out.

Well if it goes ahead I hope you're right. Still spend plenty of time in qld as i have heaps of family and friends in Queensland and they all support the Broncos and that will never change. Agreed it would be good to see the Broncos loose their monopoly over the region, but i cant see it working.

As another local, I can attest that Bronco-hate is rife. BUT, most of those haters already support another team. I'm not confident many will switch allegiances.

Gold Coast based teams will forever be a basket case. How many failures are required before they draw a line through the GC? I'd punt them and replace with a second Brissie team if we must have one.

I think this might be the way Perth gets a team. Relocation or collapse and sharks are pretty close to it by all indications
