Brookes wants to test his worth

Three years of playing first grade and still doesn't know how to tackle. Rather than testing your worth why don't you go test your shoulder on some tackle bags.

Please. It's far from that simple. His defence when he reads it right is great. He just makes some misreads at times.

Agreed Brooks is a really good defender, he at times gets his reads all wrong, but he can tackle. Thats why I said earlier in the season he was better defending in close than out wide, as in close you just have to knock the guy over who is running at you, where out wide you often have to make a decision

I seen an interview with Brad Arthur, and he said that he had a spread-sheet with 50 name on it that are off contract this year alone.

Yeah sure like 95 "misreads" so far this year.

Nathan Cleary 26 missed tackles obviously went to a better school.

I think that he is currently 75% fit at best. Could see him favouring the knee every time he got tackled

The missed tackle stat is really deceiving. You have a bloke like Soward who genuinely couldn't tackle and his missed tackles counted. They usually turned into tries, line breaks or half breaks. Brooks has the occasional blunder that leads to a try or line break but he nearly always gets his body in front of the attacker and stops their momentum before another defending comes to finish the job. Still, as far as stats go they get the same reward.

I've seen it so many times this year, but when Brooks' game is working, so is he. He oozes confidence. If he is not running the ball he goes into his shell. It's one of Taylor's most important tasks as coach over the off-season.

Saved a certain try today after JAC had a shocker.

Could quite possibly have saved our season too….I think at that stage they were up by 6

It was 24-all. It was the set after we let the ball go into touch from the kick off. I was getting ready to give him a serve for being nowhere in sight for the whole game, but he stood up in the last 10\. Credit to him.

He came up with big plays when it was needed and I think he played well overall. That is what we need from Brooks and Moses.

I reckon Moses though is going to be a star. He is consistently coming up with big plays.

I thought he was really good yesterday. He may not end up the great player that had been predicted or even as good as Moses but he's still contributing a lot in games.

Of course he is going to test the market or the market will sound him out! That's what happens when your contract is nearing an end and your a good player.

I like the way he plays, I thought it heavy for a kid to carry the "joey like" tag. But he has had some great games and some dodgy games and i think he is coming into his own. His defence needs work, nothing a good defence coach can't assist with.

I would like to see him and Moses play attacking moves together instead of playing different sides of the ruck. Not all the time cause defences adjust when both are on one side. But that's were teddy can sneak a play down the blind slide?

I think we need to play the spine card with these 3 kids. It's not unreasonable to think that if we can get the 3 humming that they could be the spine for NSW in the years to come?

Or am I crazy :crazy

He wants to lift his game a lot before he tests his worth on the open market.
I know that his knee is still giving he problems, but he was very average today.
