Tigers halfback Luke Brooks has refused to comment on his long-term future at the club, amongst the growing uncertainty over coach Ivan Cleary’s position.

The playmaker stated last month that he wanted to make a clear decision on his future and not let it “drag out”.

Penrith have since made a series of moves in attempt to reunite the father-son duo Nathan and Ivan Cleary at Penrith, rather than risk losing their no.7 to the Tigers.

Brooks, a largely forgotten man in the late-season player circus, said he’s much rather concentrate on the club’s finals bid.

With both Brooks and Cleary both off contact at the end of the 2019 season, they can begin negotiating with opposition clubs as of November 1 this year.

“Yeah, I think for me that would probably be my preference (staying at the Tigers) but rugby league is a funny game and anything can happen within the space of a week, let alone a year,” Brooks told The Daily Telegraph.

“At the moment I’m leaving that up to my manager to work it out and I’m just focusing on footy.

“To be honest it hasn’t really affected me

“I don’t want that to become a distraction for me.”

“We’ve got some big games coming up, so that is all I’m worried about.”

Nothing article. In saying that would like him to re-sign with the Tigers.

Another terrible game when it counts.

Please leave 😛ray:

I keep saying that he has nothing between the ears to make a good half.

Has one hundred games up. He couldn't lead/guide my dog around my backyard.

If he wants to go then let him.
