Brooks and Moses - At least one will not kick on

Moses is doing exactly what Taylor wants

Give him a break , seriously

As I said previously , lets wait to see what JT's end plan is for Moses before we throw him on the BBQ hey ??

I think that's almost a guarantee and I'd say the front runner is Moses atm. People say give him time, but who can name another player whose come into fg, been as average as he's been and turn into a superstar? At best, he'll be a plugger in the Jarrod Mullen/Peter Wallace mold. He's no Origin player that's for damn sure. I had hopes hearing about them in the lower grades that they could be another Foran/DCE but that's not happening.

Tbh, I don't think Jacob Miller is any worse than these 2.

Jacob Miller and Blake Austin were both better. Taylor seems to **be affected by some lobby group within the club to continue keeping these two, especially Moses,** in first grade no matter how badly they play.

I don't know about that particular lobby group - but there seems to be another lobby group that doesn't like Moses purely because of his geographical and family ties.

Good judges like who Tallis ? He thinks Sironen should be playing for Australia.
If they showed signs of improvement each week I wouldn't have a problem but each week every week they play the same.

Gus Gould I consider to have a very good footballing brain and a reasonable idea of talent. And there are plenty of others - both Johns and Fittler have also given their approval to both Brooks and Moses. But, hey, what do they know?

drinkwater would offer us nothing in the short or long term.

moses/brooks combo will be so much better for them and us especially given they are CLEARLY playing to a plan. JT wants to develop things step by step and that does not mean chucking in two 20 year old halves and telling them to man up in D, control the forwards, control the long kicking game, then sort out grubber kicks, back line plays, repeat sets and chips all from the get go. Mastering all that at NRL pace takes YEARS.

he is easing them into it getting comfortable at one thing then building from that.

and add in the fact the chooks were on a rampage and the halves weren't our issue last night why would you drop them. keep the same team and work to improve on where we can.

lol… Nice hedging of the bets there.

Both will play over 100 NRL games and that alone is a great achievement.

Brooks is still trying to work out when to control a game, and can get a little 2-left-footed, but has class to play many more NRL Seasons. His greatest asset is his ability to not be caught up with the bright lights.

Moses by the end of 2016 will be commanding top dollars much like Milford. He has structure and flair that every team needs. Once he settles into the team, watch him fly!

Both are 1-2 years away from reaching there potential!

Where's the hedging of bets??

I'm not saying throw Moses on the BBQ - I am simply questioning whether it is good for him to be doing all of his senior footy development in and NRL team that is struggling somewhat and going home after each game carrying the opposing forwards' stud marks from a'hole to breakfast.

And his kicking game has shown almost zero improvement and that is a real worry.

My glass is pretty full, so I am quite happy to tip a bit into those that are half empty or worse. Sure, they all don't make it, but geez, if one of them doesn't realise their potential and only plays an odd origin game and about ten years of top grade, how disappointing.

They are waaaaay above anything other than first grade standard as it is, so why would the club consider playing either at that level, although Fletcher would let them play their hand unlike Taylor. For mine Moses is the one that can really shine, just needs to be allowed to use the polish.

JT must have thought that Drinkwater had something or he wouldn't have signed him as backup. I'm not sure how any of us posters know that he offers nothing, as no one has ever seen him in the top team, despite some good performances in the trials.
Some players react to moving up to 1st grade by lifting their level and playing above anything previously, Some don't !!
I'm not saying that it's impossible to develop two halves in first grade atthe same time, in a team where the forwards continually can get ( more often than not) control of the game.

But that's not the situation. It's not news that both of them are targeted Every week. And it's a lot to ask of them, I want to see both of them in 1sts eventually ,but there's nothing that I have seen that shows that that is the most likely result.
I already said that better judges than me have gone overboard on both young players, but all young kids are a gamble, and Experts have been wrong before , and will no doubt in the future.
Moses and Brooks have their whole future ahead of him, it's no shame on either of them if they don't develope at the same rate.

Got to say i'm tired of any time someone is critical of a player now, they have to defend themselves over the players lineage. God forbid you don't rate a player on actual ability. No instead We gotta justify ourselves to a bunch of ultra sensitive dinosaurs. I never rated Matt Groat, not from day 1\. Is someone going to accuse me of just not rating him cos of his ''geographical and family ties''?

before soon Moses will be parting the sea - it takes time. Moses is a spark - pretty soon a flame. Way too early. And only 1 team can win the comp. Let the guy continue to learn his life calling. The paradox is that he has so much talent that he is a kid playing against men. Thats how good he is.

what i meant is that he offers nothing over our current halves. he's a good signing as a BACKUP half but that's all he is. a back up for 2 20 years olds if they get injured.

CQ, I for one ,know nothing about Mitchell's family situation or geographical situation , and that's now or at any time before, I have only heard of him last year and am only interested in him as a WTPlayer , and am certainly not a part of a lobby group.
I'm happy to support him in every game he plays in . And cheer my head off for him whenever he's on the field for the WTs
But I will still give give my honest opinion on whether I think that the present situation in the team is good for his development or not
And I've already stated that if I'm wrong , I'll happily wear the egg on my face, and I do hope that I am wrong, for both the kids sakes

I think that this is more true. I don't get the hate towards Moses. He hasn't killed them but he looks okay to me. He hasn't had a shocker or anything close to it. I'm okay with that at the moment.
