Brooks Bashers Bore Me

Fairly accurate summary mate,
He's not the only half in the game to not exploit a team a man short though....
I'd almost argue that more often than not teams stuff it up because they play too frantic and assume it's automatically going to open up for them.

I've also seen teams score 1-2 tries whilst being a man down... That's really not getting it right.
Won't be the last time it happens, It's certainly not the first.
Not sure any other team or any other half gets nailed to the cross for it like ours does though.
- They're just footballers, Not surgeons...
I blame the coaches more than the halfbacks , the coaches in trying to be Bellamy clones are rigged in game plans that players dont see or take advantage of opportunities that may arise that they have not prepared.

feel for Brooks as he is obviously doing what coaches say otherwise he wouldn’t have lasted with so many coaches

No excuses. He carries on like he's God's gift to halfback play but on the biggest day, without one of their stars so more expectation fell on Cronk, he delivered bugger all. A massive fail. Why didn't he step up that day if he is the be-all and end-all of right play/right time, owning the team, genius game management? Don't want to derail the thread but it's just funny how he blows smoke up his own arse but is in the record books for a huge flop when it mattered most.😀
He can't tackle for the forwards. He's a legend. Please.

It's not like this man goes down so this is the exact spot where a hole will be so every idiot watching who has never played would just pass the ball there and score 5 tries. The opposition adjusts. I'm not the biggest Brooks fan but I hope he wins it for us tonight in extra.

Cammy confirms Storm were interested in Brooks..
With all the noise around their 6 & 7, My first thoughts were they'd be salivating....
Especially if they get him at half price because the fans have to have something to whinge about and someone to blame.

I am frustrated like everyone on here but I just don't get the Brooks bashing.
Its the same people that say Brooks is rubbish, that say our forwards are rubbish, that say a half need a solid pack to play behind and that say brooks will go well at another club.

I don’t get the Brooks bashers either. Tonight was Brooks best game of the year.
Yes, everyone will say it was still utter trash, but are we seriously trying to compare him to Cooper Cronk? No one is saying Brooks kicks well or takes control of a game, but that’s not what he is there for!
He made at least one or two really good tackles and he didn’t give even one hospital pass. Don’t know what people expect from him. Seriously!
The whole team was terrible! Well, excluding Roberts and Madden. Even Laurie wasn’t as woeful. But besides those guys, the rest of the players deserve way more crap heaped on them than Brooks.
Especially the forwards! Except for Luciano and Tuilagi who were pretty good and Joffa and maybe even Garner when he appeared.
But besides those guys!

And sure Brooks may have conceded that crucial, dumb penalty at the end, I’ll give you that, but that would be nit-picking because he tries his guts out!

Hope he keeps this form going. Because who else do we have anyway? Other than Douehi and Hastings obviously. But other than them?
This was a really good game from Brooks and there’s clearly already a brilliant combo forming with him and Madden.

He was their number 1 playmaker out there that day. He craps on relentlessly about owning the team when your the chief playmaker, owning your own performance and steering your side around the park. They got bent over and demolished that day. He didn't do his job. But not once has he ever bothered to elaborate on why he stuffed up so badly. But ask him about one of his GF winning days and he'll drone on until eternity, lapping up the backslaps. He was a decent player but he's a walloper who's never shy on big-noting himself. Coopy's favourite subject is Coopy.

Like you said, " one of his GF winning days"

Mirror, mirror on the wall, ..........

I was listening to him in the pre-match take down of Brooks and thinking exactly that. Arguably the team of the the century thus far minus their true leader and he failed to take the reins.
