His debut will be in an under strength side, regardless of the result hope he gets another shot soon in a stronger side

Hope he gets to play his own game and isn't forced into doing JT's dumb mid field bombs

Will be a one way ticket back to reserve grade if he does not do 10 bombs with no spiral

Josh Drinkwater has been named to make his Club debut as a replacement for Brooks, and will become the 186th player tried at halfback for Wests Tigers.

Fixed

Firstly good luck on a speedy recovery to Brooksie. Secondly am looking forward to braving the cold tO see what difference, if any, Drinkwater makes and wish him all the best for his debut in 1st grade in need of a shining light.

I'm not expecting any diversion from the game plan at all, but here's hoping he can add just a bit more polish to our kicking game and the end of sets in general.
All the best Josh, and a speedy recovery to Luke.

I wonder if brooks really is injured. Hope he goes well. Haven't seen a huge amount of nswcip this year but he seems to have a good kicking game and is solid in defence. But more experience can't hurt either.

He will be under instructions from Taylor to play second fiddle to Moses, very hard to come into a side at no7 and take control and lets face it, their are not many targets in our backline to send flying through a gap

I wasn't going to the game, but now I am. I'm hopeful more than expectant, but it could be a trigger for something better from our boys.

Your hunch might be right Watto…....an opportunity to see how the team goes with a more steadying influence in the halves. He has a sound kicking game but it's a pity he doesn't have more penetrative outside backs to pass to.

He defiantly took a hit in last weeks game so it has not come good. Bit to late for Drinky would of liked him in several weeks ago.

I work with his uncle and Taylor told him he would only get a chance in NRL due to injury and not poor form of one or both halves.

Was offered a contract to return to England to replace Campese but Taylor refused to release him.

These kind of replacements make me think of the Australian cricket team in the 90s, how you needed to tear it up if you got a shot, because you may never get another.

Drinky needs to dominate this one, force Taylor to consider him further. Austin did it last year when Anasta got injured. A meek or modest effort won't cut it. I hope he does well and the pressure doesn't get to him, because it is only a good thing if we have more pressure for positions.

However if he plays like a mug, at the very least we will have diluted the argument about our backups in the halves and prove why some guys are destined to be career lower-graders.

It's up to you Drinky.

Based on Taylor's form this season I would not doubt your statement at all.

Apparently we need.to seek approval for Drinkwater to play from NRL. .due to exceeding last year's 2nd tier cap

Interested to see how he goes. Was very good in the trials. Hope he has a great debut and helps us get the win
