I work with his uncle and Taylor told him he would only get a chance in NRL due to injury and not poor form of one or both halves.

Was offered a contract to return to England to replace Campese but Taylor refused to release him.

Based on Taylor's form this season I would not doubt your statement at all.

Read something in RLW about it being a short term loan for the rest of the season. If that's the case I understand Taylor saying no, especially with injury. If it was a long term contract though I'd be less inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Good.

I'm sick of us being the nice guys and releasing players cause there's an opportunity for them. They are under contract and we might need them.

Last year we did it with koro, within weeks simona, nofo, Teddy and lulia were long term injured. Clubs interests first, players second.

Apparently we need.to seek approval for Drinkwater to play from NRL. .due to exceeding last year's 2nd tier cap

Can't work that one out, can you explain?

No I can't. ..baffled to.
There is a video story about it on west's tigers official site

However if he plays like a mug, at the very least we will have diluted the argument about our backups in the halves and prove why some guys are destined to be career lower-graders.

It's up to you Drinky.

So your saying id he does not dominate tonight in his debut for us it proves he is a career lower grader.

Thats fair! :unamused:

It's not about fair, it's about opportunities.

Brooks is probably out for 1 week. Drinky has 1 week to show why he should be kept in firsts, otherwise he goes back.

If he gets dominated, he won't readily be given another shot.

In Drinky's personal situation, we know he was behind the halves at Manly but didn't make a fist of it when he went to Saints. He's done a tour in ESL, but he's not gonna become a permanent first-grade half if he keeps punching around in reserves and doesn't want to stick it out in England.

"I know I'm behind those boys. JT told me straight away that Mitch and Brooksy were going to start the year in first grade. I just want to come here, play good footy, and if something happens and JT calls my name, I've got to take my opportunity."

Good Luck to Josh, he seems like a good guy and quite a decent player from the NSW Cup games I have seen. He has admirably captained the side this year. I'm sure he will be solid. Let's hope the forwards play well.

JT said that Brooks will be back playing for us after the bye. So Drinkwater will be dropped back to NSW cup even if he has a blinder.
Good luck Josh

Clear as mud, cheers Ink. Surely they have to say yes, but what happens if they don't?

Says a lot about us we need approval to play players….when others have already debuted thus year yet other top tier players remain in reggies

Drinkwater is the worst defensive player I have ever seen, Moses is close but he tries.
We will have to win in a high scoring game otherwise we get flogged.

Thanks Drinky, thanks for showing us there are worse attacking options than what we already thought we had. Rubbish grubber, forward pass, rubbish grubber, all in crucial attacking position.

He was really poor. Brooks is a much better option based on that effort.

Moses wad good….

For someone who has had limited time with the team Quadja did some good bad and ugly...as a backup he's just that

He looks good doesn't he. I think he needs to be given more responsibility. Moses and Tedesco look the two most likely to win us games.

Teddy is miles ahead of him though.
