Brooks under pressure

Look guys, I know what happens here.
Poor form for a period of time from a player or players and “lets get rid of him” brigade run around saying the sky is falling the sky is falling!
When Brooks was going great guns all was sweet. Hope we can sign him long term and O Boy we did and we do have a half which most judges see as a key to our attack.
Same When Reynolds was playing bad with injury last year …. let’s get rid of him merchants came out.
For mine, Brooks and the rest of the players are again in a position where they are “again” under new coach with new set of requirements and style of play they need to get used to and implement.
We all complain that things like last night happen over and over again and players don’t learn. But the management and circumstance we have been under over last period of time where we have had what? 5 coaches do make it difficult.
So I can guess that AGAIN this season will be a bit of a struggle and it will be tough for all WT supporters, players and coaching staff AGAIN. And I know we have been waiting, waiting, waiting and deserve better.
But it’s not all players fault. Dare I say AGAIN .... give it time.

Marshall is useless also. Why we re-signed him beggars belief. That's our problem. We have no cattle. Brooks will keep his spot and we will finish our usual 10-12 place until we clear out the joint.
Problem then will be who will we replace them with? Why would you want to come and play for the WT?
You will have to pay way overs for anyone half decent. We did this for Adam Blair. How did that turn out?

I doubt he’s under pressure. He has a 5 year contract. The club rates him highly.

Brooks has been very ordinary vs Manly, Panthers and Dogs this year, and he was average against the Warriors. A shocking start. Can hardly recall anything good.
Why is he always starting flat footed in attack? Rewatch the game, he stands there everytime and doesn't get our backs going forward. By the time he passes to the man on his left, the defence is up.

He has his good games but he does a really poor job of stepping up and controlling the game when we need him the most.
I'd start looking for a replacement. A player like Brooks is useless if you want to play finals football. We need a half back who doesn't go into his shell.

This is the worst possible outcome that this club has put itself in once again ! After the last 4 rounds if anyone thinks that Brooks will be around past next season are having a lend of themselves . If Maguire is going to have any success at this club Brooks needs to be moved on as soon as possible . Brooks is all that is wrong with this club all promise no substance, this attitude has to be weeded out of the player group as once again there will be no finals appearance this season .

Relax…we are 2/2, with a decent goal kicker 3/1, new coach, new spine, new combos everywhere. Give Maguire time to do his job.

Has spurts of performances that can lead to things then has to be moved on by clubs fairly quickly. That's not what we need. I am very comfortable with my assessment of Maloney. His overall game sucks.

He may be a knob, but he is a better footy player than Brooks, and a goal kicker too, another former player who would be very handy now

Brooks has been a first grader for 6 years and people are still talking as if it's his first year in first grade.
When the game is on the line he is nowhere to be seen, when the pressure is on he crumbles. Players like this are the reason this club has a losing culture, when it's time to step up he goes missing.
He'll pull out a good game against some also rans, people start getting excited and then when it's pressure cooker time he will do what he did last night again, rinse and repeat.
There is a very good reason why he hasn't ever played finals football.

4 games in guys. Its frustrating I know but put the noose away. Its a long season and I reckon this team will play better and more consistently each week moving forward.

I said this last year and was castigated because he was polling well in the Dally M's, but as I pointed out he was doing a Steven Bradbury, all the contenders were falling over, it wasn't brilliant footy from Brooks

Goal kicking is a real problem.
Overall though, I think the side is better balanced this year than several of the previous years. It will be stronger again in 2020 but here is hoping we actually play better as a group while the season progresses.
