Brooks.... what is he good for??

Wow! More bagging out of Brooksy. Seriously. Out of the teams not in the top 4, of which 2 are known halfbacks (Moses & Cleary), who do you think is better suited?? Was Dally M halfback of the year in 2018, lost out last to Moses last year, and how did our team fair? 9th.

People are pretty harsh on his guy.

Our performance on the team that's coming 2nd was very good. Not great, but very good. A few calls the difference & sloppy defence on the last try is what lost us the game.

I'm disappointed in the lost, as is every Tigers supporter, but not ashamed of the effort.

Yep. They are miles apart.
And Cleary isn’t even that good.

I don’t think much of Cleary’s game tbh
All he does is put up bombs ..

He’s a good defender and has a decent kicking game. Has nothing in attack at all.

I'd say about half of them are better. The rest would either be at a similar level or a downgrade. Foran is quality but how many games can he play? You buying him at top dollar given his recent injuries? I wouldn't risk it. Reynolds isn't better. Pearce, Green, Townsend are probably in the sort of Brooks level of play. Taylor and Flanagan are below average and would be rubbish at tigers. I still think Moses is a downhill player, on a good team he shines, on a struggler he's a weakness. But whether I agree with your list or not, even on that list you've also only named 21 players and there are 32 halves in the comp and so you're conceding he's a middle of the road halfback, as much as you seem to dislike him.

But my question wasn't which do you think are better, it was who do you rate as a halfback if not Cleary? To me, Cleary isn't dynamic but he has that controlling ability and clinical play that is really important for a halfback. I rate keary and DCE and maybe even Luai above him, but he's a quality player.

Reynolds missed 9 tackles tonight

Also we struggled without Brooks in the first 2 rounds with that combination, scraped a win against the dragons and got flogged by Newcastle. I thought it was a relief when Brooks came back. Our best combo is Brooks-Benji.

A lot on here must have never played rugby league or understand what happened tonight. Brooks was targeted on every run, targeted either very kick. Grant was niggled hit and taken out of the game. It was an ice rink on that new turf I was out there. This was not a. Game for the backs or Brooks/Reynolds.

The only difference was Kikau he monstered us out wide and created space for Crichton who is a freak. We were held own and intentional 6 agains and the. In the next play they are 5 metres offside and not called stifling every set.

FWIW I agree that it’s tiring with the same old Brooks threads.

We are stuck with him. Which is just sad. He doesn’t even have potential anymore.

Over it tbh.

Brooks had a good game. He put two bad attacking kicks in but otherwise was really good. He doesn't have the clutch gene is the main problem. But that's a Tigers issue more than a Brooks issue. We're a legit cursed team lol.

Brooks was our best player by miles tonight he controlled the game for us, was playing 1st receiver on average twice each set on both sides of the ruck. He made 3 or 4 breaks but no one was there in support. It looks like Grant, Doueihi and Mbye are all playing with injuries and just were not there.
Reynold's only skill seems to be chasing his own kicks. He cant tackle, kick or pass and gives up momentum 2 or 3 times a game.
I watched a few games this weekend and the only halfback that I will concede was better in the games I watched was Nathan Cleary. Did you see how bad DCE was last week without Turbo as an attacking option?Storm don't seem to have had a halfback this year, Flannery is a control type, Keary made a lot of errors. Jai Field was ordinary just fast, George Williams has had one good NRL game.
There are different types of halfbacks, any type can be successful in a well balanced spine. There is only one Andrew Johns and even with his skill and massive ego he didn't dominate even half the games he played.

Brooks played well his defence was solid all night. Some people just like to criticise him and Nof because they can
