Brooks.... what is he good for??

I know this won't be a popular view, but I think Brooksy is better with Benji in the side. In fact, I think the whole attack and flair of the team is better with Benji in the side. Reynolds missed tackles last night as poorly as Benj does at times. Apart from his 'energy' and niggling attitude, I don't think Reynolds adds enough to the side, in terms of attack that keeps the oppositon guessing.

He's learned his lesson, Madge. Bring back Benji to the starting line up. Reynolds to the bench for Chee Kam.

Benji misses tackles far more often than Reynolds and is defensively out of position far more often also.There is a valid reason he was dropped.i honestly dont believe he is a starter anymore and the only role i can potentially see for him is short time off the bench.
Benji is one of the 2 best players ever to play for WT but you cant beat age

LOL at this thread . Every single time we win , Brooks played ok i guess, when we lose Brooks is the worst , why do we play him , where’s the razor blades.
He played well, we lost because of ill discipline and bad 50-50 calls m that changed the momentum . Sometimes you control that through gaining ascendency in the game , others by just bad luck . Blaming him for making the wrong Hail Mary play with 1 minute to go , is absolutely laughable .
I thought the riff were over rated , until last night . That game was one of the best quality footy games all year.
If we are involved in a game of that intensity and quality , as close as last year , we get blown out. Seriously what are you guys watching ?

Perhaps the Mods could consider creating a permanent "Brooks Bashing" thread, like the Signing Suggestions and Rumours thread.

It would save our members creating a new thread each week.

If you were there last night you would realise what a difference the Grub makes to this team . It is OFF the ball that is the difference and make no mistake if last night proved anything Grub is very much a fan favourite !

The constant overreacting about Brook's involvement always surprises me. He is not long back from injury and is in a team that are changing everything they do. He made a nice break and his kicking was OK. Reynolds kicked last week, and M'Bye had a couple of kicks last night, so looks like Madge is trying to take a bit of pressure off him.

There are not many great halfbacks in the NRL at the moment, and I cannot thing of one I would swap him for. Don't expect him to be more than he is. He is not a talker, he is not a leader, but he is a solid half with a good passing game that can kick. We need more potency outside him.

The problem I see is there is an expectation on Brooks to win a game on his own …if that doesn’t occur he is a failure…In reality very few players in the game now can do that and very few if ever…the one’s that did are Immortals…

What he can do is contribute to us winning games and bust his arse trying when we lose…I have never seen him not try…

Yet it still wasn’t enough because he’s Luke Brooks…

I was there, right on the half-way line and few rows from the front, and I had a very close look at Brooksy, as I am far from convinced about him, but, I thought Brooks was better than ok last night. I don't think he deserves the criticism this week. He was solid.

It's not his job to be solid. It's his job to get us home.

His fans just don't get this

His job is to win us those games.

I'm a fan and I hear what you are stating. He has to win us games to be a great player. He isn't there yet. He still contributes significantly to the team and is a quality first grade half back. Hopefully he gets there but even if he doesn't we have other spine positions to fill prior to worrying about getting rid of Brooks. We can become a better team with Brooks in the 7 role.

I did miss the Bulldogs 2004 win but he hardly deserves the credit. He only played 7 games that year and was on the bench in the finals games.
