He was not the reason we lost the game our forwards could not go forward and as per some forum members have alluded to we should be paying 2 props for go forward, I blame Madge for this loss not selecting a forward pack that could not make yards, shows however we are still a thereabouts team.

What positives can you give me about Brooks game that relate to being a good half from tonight

Well i cant give you any positives as the forwards did not make it past the advantage line, nor did the the wingers or fullback have much impact.
i cant say i saw Mybe taking a run but i did see brooks defending well all night,

Im not going to bag Brooks for tonights game,all the starting backline played woefully except for Hoffman(did well on debut,he was skinned by his own mates )Douhie did ok as well...

I’m talking about when the big 4 were off contract and Cleary decided brooks not Moses was his man. You might be right though for his most current contract.

He didn’t sign mbye, or packer or McQueen or Reynolds. That’s probably $3m of our cap right there.

It’s past time to make excuses for Brooks. Whenever he plays poorly it’s always someone else’s fault, it’s not, it’s his and his alone. It’s not the team, not the forward pack, not the wingers, not the 5/8 or hooker who won’t let him take control, it’s just Brooks. He’s a good player just not the halfback the Wests Tigers need, better suited to 5/8.

No one was particularly good last night. Blame him all you want but two careless plays from MCK and Nofaloama cost two tries and the game. Tries lead directly from those errors and that is indisputable.

Reynolds brings nothing and is preventing the development of Madden who to me looms as our future 7 and halves partner of Brooks.

Agreed. If nothing else it might take him out of his comfort zone and demand more of him

Benji and Reynolds against Newcastle diabolical. Brooks in attack may not be firing to everyone's like but take him away defensively and watch the fall out. This blaming him individually for losses is nuts. Yes he has flaws but with the squad we have dropping him further weakens our team it doesn't strengthen it.
