A lot of talk but Brooks had a shocker and has been trending downward for a few weeks. Madge is calling him out. Huge talent but doesn’t take footy seriously enough. On and off the field.

If he doesn’t aim up he may need a change of scenery. I think he will.

It seems that way really.
Do you think he enjoys playing it? As in he doesn’t take it seriously/ care because he just doesn’t want to compete and it’s just a job or is he down on confidence and really wants to be a first grader?

Only started getting into peak physical shape when Cleary started. I think it’s all off the field work that translates on it. His defence has been outstanding before last week I’d be more concerned about the downward trend in performances. Fact he hasn’t been dropped before is probably a major reason.

Oh I took off the field as in outside of football.
You mean his not the best trainer...
I think his too comfortable playing for his local club. All those boys needed to shift to change their attitude to footy.
Sironen
Moses
Brown
All mates from a young age aren’t they?

I believe so. All talented and same story. He’s loose off the field but plenty are. We have had a mediocre expectation as a club and players coming in know they don’t have to do much to retain their positions. Madge is changing the attitudes. He needs more depth to be able to do it properly.

Didn’t think Brooks would be loose outside of football, being such a quiet personality.
Saw him at a concert earlier in the year with just one other mate. He seemed pretty conservative, just enjoying the music wasn’t drunk or anything.

Do you think Walters or Benji has taken Brooks position?

We will have to wait and see Friday.

If he can get his running game right he’ll be in with a chance.

Walters footy hasn’t been fed with a silver spoon who knows what he could be with a decent team and someone who backs him like tigers have backed brooks

Madge was asked about Brooks in his presser. didn't go into too much detail but said he told Luke he needs to improve on all aspects of his game and that he knows the player he can be at his best. sounds like Brooksy responded well as well.

he will come on as a 6
walters to 9
Grant have a rest
then grant comes back on
Marshall off
finish with Brooks and ealters in 7 and 6

I noticed in the stats after the game made it in his brief run, it was for most mistakes I believe 😬 Aye curumba. At least he tried to throw a longer pass which is what I've been wanting him to do.

Mate, he was typical of a late sub - tried too hard in a brief period. I did notice that he tried running the ball more as coach wanted. He had a great run but then lost the ball. That’s Brooksie

Brooks came on and carved them up but he dropped the ball and threw a bad pass which isn't good optics. But his running game with fresh legs against the tired Broncos was very apparent.

i think brooksy tried to do to much tbh. That and his execution was very poor. I for one am rooting for him to turn it around. Like nofo i will always have a soft spot because they chose us over others.

Brooks will be back. Why? Because Maguire knows he needs his pace and flair against the top sides with the tough defences.

Try and trade brooks to storm for harry Grant
A Brooks Munster combo down there would be pretty strong
We keep Grant play walters at 6 not to sure about a 7 though, Madden ? Walters 7 reynolds 6 dont know

Brooks will be back. He is capable of splitting defences in tight games and has done this before. His form has been down, but the ability is there. I'm not sure how this will all pan out, but I'm happy we have three halves (four if you add Reynolds) who can all do a good job and all know they have to perform or another person will take their place. What I have seen across the park over the past month is a toughness in defence. I haven't seen line speed and crunching tackles like our players are consistently delivering, for years. Reminds me of the great Gareth Ellis.

Mbye to Madge = Rankin to JT

Absolutely, the double standard is breathtaking. What message is Maguire sending to other players?

Who is going to take Mbyes spot

Talau.

And the wing spot

Lawrence to left centre with Hoffman outside of him. Was that a Captain looking after his debutant last week? What a disgrace Mbye has been over the last two games.

Talau to right centre.

I agree with the Mbye comments
But Lawrence will get eaten by Xaviers speed

I think Xavier's just licking his wounds.

When he got on towards the end there was no depth which didn’t help him. If I remember correctly when he ran there wasn’t any other option

Forget taking Marshall off. As I have stated before, we have scored very few points in the second half of games once Marshall was dropped. We had nobody to organise when the team was under pressure and fatigued. If you dont believe me check the scores. Marshalls defence is better so leave him.

Brooks just needs to sort out his headspace. He’s a good player but could do with a few sessions with a sports physiologist I think. He is his own worst enemy.

saw him throw a couple of cutouts which he hadn't done in a long time. clearly lacked execution and tried to do too much with not very much time but no doubt he'll work his way back into the side.
