In the medium term there is no place for Brooks in the side ... injury will be his Avenue back , had his chances .

I agree he's gonna have to work his way back into the side and sorry to be a bit of a downer but I'm not nearly as optimistic as you, particularly thinking bout Benji's defensive game next week.

Don't get me wrong I love the strong presence of onfield leadership - think it extended right across the park with Lawrence/Benji/Aloiai/Packer/Grant - and it was great to see Walters take his opportunity with both hands, but we played the Broncos.
Benji will be heavily targeted....by Shaun Lane nonetheless...and there'll be more pressure put on his attacking game.
A totally different kettle of fish. So fingers crossed we have a game plan best for this alone.

Would love to hear people's thoughts on how we win next week though??

Des provides the blueprint tonight which is hard to execute at BankWest against the Eels.
Hold their early barrage and try to build a lead and get in a grind. They key is holding their forwards and stopping Gutherson. Easier said than done but with a 5 day turnaround they could be missing Sivo, Brown and Mahoney May be suspended for a lifting tackle.

Eels were crap and in the end Manly simply protected their lead to get the W.

I think Eels were better once Nuikore went on and they started going left.
Aside from the fact they played without Moses, Matterson and Ferguson, I don't think that team will be the same Parra team we'll be playing on Thursday. No one likes losing to us.
Plus it looked like they having were having an off game with most of the team looking very flat.

Manly are a better team than the Eels. They were robbed in their first game. Both teams at full strength and Manly will win and well. Badly underrated team. Eels are beatable but I don’t think we have the team to stop them. Canberra and Manly both should have beaten them in different games. We are not at the level of those teams just yet but we will trouble them like we did Penrith.

Yes I agree about Manly, very good team - I still don’t know how the hell St George beat them last week...heck I still can’t comprehend that St George have actually won 3 in a row! We do rarely do that and I think we’re a better side than the Dragons.

Anyone see the team song on our Facebook? Brooks looked less than thrilled to be there.

Well after looking at it and considering he only came on last 15 mins its hard to sing and be motivated that you contributed to the win, however we was singing and clapping and gave a smile at the end with Leliua pranced around.
Packed looked motivated to sing it loud and proud as been awhile.

They were flat the week prior and agonized over my Tips on this game, should have gone the upset they were flat against the knights the week prior.
Manly were not that great either putting them away and held on bit like the Knights vs Souths where they were lucky to hold on.
Keeps Manly in the hunt for a Top 8 finish.

Either trade Brooks as melbourne need a halback or Nofo as they need a winger ... hellooo Marsterton and Russell
Do this to keep Grant

No Geo - What Jedi says goes - it's the force you see.

Brooks will be back because he is one of our best. Some of the garbage being posted about him is disturbing.

There are many ill informed comments flying about.

So far we've had the Chris Lawrence is a plodder line yet he has been a major contributor the last few weeks.

The other of course is McIntyre was a plodder in ISP and not NRL standard when it was patently obvious he was an NRL standard player. We missed him hugely against Souths.

Don't forget the crap Packer has copped as well.

Doesn't matter if you are injured - you still have to deliver on the field, even though you can't even train.

Same reason he benched Marshall...

There is lot more involved than simply swapping players which people think is as easy as hitting the trade rage button in fantasy..

Grant has already said hell honour his Melbourne contract as well as relative salaries are concerned in any deal which took forever to get the NRL to approve with Momirovski in the 1st place..

So yeah..

Thought better of you if yo want to discuss serious options ..obviously not..

Packer is one of my favourites. He is the leader and will get the players to another level through his determinatiin.

7 thumbs up already for this post. Wow!
You go for it guys!
Being a Tigers fan has always been heart-over-head!
Dig your heels in! It’s almost sweet.

The way I see it,
Brooks will keep his spot on the Bench this week.
Next week Reynolds is back, he may take it from him although Madge tends to give them an extra week off after suspension as a bit of a reminder.
I think the two of them are just keeping the seat warm for Jacob Liddle / Simpkins to play that role later in the year.
Madge appears to be pushing longer minutes out of our forwards and with Twal back and playing 80 I’d say we can keep that last position on the bench for a utility.

Doesn't work that way, you need to understand that.

Quit trolling or you can have a breather for a week. Your garbage is tiring.

You know damn well Nofo wouldn't be keen.

The scenarios you come up with to suit your agenda is endless.

I reckon Bellamy would back himself to get something better out of Brooks.
I’d be happy to swap him and Harry.

As much as i hate to say it, Cleary is a gun half but I haven't quite noticed the type of aggression and passion he displayed tonight, like he grew a bigger pair overnight. It really is a leader type, and lifted his team, reminds me of packer especially in his 2nd stint vs the donkeys.
Wish Brooks can take a leaf...
