do you think he will be a flop?

looking on british forums, they say he didnt do much this year

"Burgess has done nothing this season, Graham, Peacock and Morley have all been better." Gparting claims on Wigan Warriors Forum

All i ever hear about him is his hit on Moi Moi. But he is only 19\. Props do start to play there best footy in their mid 20s though.

He'll do very well under John Lang.

Lang is an excellent coach of props. I really think he dodged a bullet by avoiding Jason Taylor, who is a poor coach of forwards (Asotatsi etc have all gone backwards).

Under Lang = superstar.

on Fox Sports News today Nathan Brown rated him as the best young prop he's ever seen. That's a huge wrap from a guy who's been involved in League for as long as Nathan, and seen some of the great props come through like Price, Webcke and Pet.

one of his problem is he can make alot of errors in the game, however if he can sort this out he is a fantastic defensive player but quite ordinery in attack but for his age very good, as most forwords dont develop until the later stages of his carear.

None of those can play 13, Sam Burgess can, Graham has been good, Peacock average, the best props in SL were Aizue, Carvell, Morley and Crabtree. Burgess will come on well in his stint in australia, as have Morley and Ellis.

I still can't believe JT stayed in the job as long as he did at Souths. He was just the wrong kind of coach for the situation Souths were in. Not enough experience and expertise to build a club up successfully. Why do they think John Lang got involved? Lang should take them places with a bit of luck.

As for Burgess, the jury is still out but time will tell. He's got the potential but we'll see. Losing Taylor though will be a blessing for a player like Sam though.

jeez, burgess ran amok against the aussies last weekend. great signing by souths. he was jumping for bombs and defusing bombs at the other end. this is a prop - plus his front row workload. fuggeddaboudit. state of origin material.

Good work rate? You are watching a different player to me.

Souths are talking up their ability to bulldoze teams next year. I don't think it's going to happen. Taylor and Burgess are excellent signings and I would love either one of them. However, they not the kind of forwards that are going to be getting back and taking the first hitup of a set of 6\. They're both more likely to cause havoc on the fringes. I'm sure they'll develop the ability to take more of the hard stuff, I'm just not convinced it will be by next year.

He is going to be an absolute star in the NRL, believe me. Souths are very lucky to have signed him. I am very jealous. He would have worked well with Gaz. He is already one of the best forwards in the world and he is only 20.

I think he's being just a tiny bit over rated at the moment, lets all wait and see what he does next year before we start saying he's the best since' whoever' shall we.

I read that Bradford were able to offer Orford an increased amount because Russell Crowe had paid up to $500,000 release fee for Burgess - apparently the fee is not included in the salary cap - can anyone confirm this because its a joke if its not included.

I remember reading Souths would have to pay a release and that it would be included in their cap…. and that's why i still have no idea how they could afford him.

If it wasn't included that is absolutely crap!

Its not included in the cap because it doesnt go to the player, it goes to Bradford.
