Cameron Smith v David Gallop

How much time have you got mate? There are enough reasons to hold a 6-hour seminar on that rag of a human.

If I recall correctly NRL investigators found that players had signed 2 x contracts - one for the official books and one for the real amount to be kept secret. I was always flabbergasted that the NRL put out the statement that the players and their agents were innocent. How can signing a second false, deceptive contract for the very purposes of hiding payments from the NRL be excused in such a manner? They should have brought criminal charges against the players caught, their managers and the clubs management.

I may not agree ..but your passion to your deluded cause is admirable ...insane but admirable

I know the accountant Murdoch sent it. It was a complete set of double books hidden from everyone. Such a shame they didn’t investigate players and managers harder. Actually it’s a joke.

Smith should be nowhere near management of an nrl club, like slater, like Inglis like them all really

Cammy ..yeah we cheated for 5 years but only a little bit..lol

He is not even that smart, he is complaining they got punished early before the investigation was completed. When they were punished it was believe they were $1.7m over the cap, when the investigation was completed they were actually $3.75m over. What is he complaining about?

Because the boat he recieved was worth more than the $3.75m stated

Correct, copies of the NRL trophies. The Storm refuse to accept they did not win those years.

The Melbourne Storm , the Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon of the NRL

:100: % correct there @cochise.
I wonder why the NRL hasn't stepped in and told Melbourne they are not allowed to display trophies for those years and demanded they forever be removed from display.

I thought I heard also when Storm were celebrating this year's win, they were celebrating it as their 6th premiership, including the ones that were stripped from them in that count. And that '6th' was on the celebratory t-shirts or something like that. It's not just disrespectful of them but petulant.

This is a big reason a lot of us (NRL fans) are not fans of Cameron and the Storm. The woe is me act combined with their refusal to accept that they cheated the salary cap is just incredible. Frustratingly the media often smooth over it as well.

If I'm not mistaken, I read Storm still have their cancelled Grand Final wins displayed at their HQ.

Correct, copies of the NRL trophies. The Storm refuse to accept they did not win those years.

The word from the NRL should be:

"Take them down or be disbanded" - should've happened when they were caught.

Edit: Of the course the players didn't know they were signing a second contract, yeah! right.

I get where he is coming from- the amount of effort the entire team put in, the coaches- blood, sweat and tears used to winning a comp is insane

BUT

he still doesn't see the big picture. the team was illegal. The initial stages of ANY business in the world is the hardest and they broke the biggest law to get that business successful. Forget the '05- '10 era, but even post that there should be an * next IMO because that success was only built upon the illegal success before it. Cronk/Slater/Smith stayed together due to the cheating.

I think the NRL handled it perfectly. The players can still count them as their premierships because they worked hard for it, they can keep the rings. But in no way is the entire club deserving of keeping the trophies. NRL should have actually banned the Melbourne Storm from the comp for 2 years IMO.

However, I can see that Smith is trying to stick up for his teammates and himself but he couldn't be more one eyed and wrong.

To further elaborate, both Dogs and Storm who got fined for massive salary cap breaches won the comp within 2 years. Breaching the cap should set you back 5-10 years, but it's almost as if it's been rewarded.

I don't even need to read past the first few paragraphs. Complaining that they did cheat, but not as bad as everyone thinks they did?

Hahah Cam Smith oh dear God.

No he actually claimed they cheated worse and then complained that the NRL pulled the trigger early which is even more ridiculous.
