Soft.

Don't know what you're talking about … im on your side!

We need irrefutable evidence that blacktown is less desirable than the eastern suburbs. It boggles the mind that anybody would prefer moore park to rooty hill.

Seeing as in the past you've gotten salty for me sticking my nose into one of your back and forths i could ask what my question to him has to do with you, but anyway.

You guys would make wonderful politicians. The question was pretty straight forward. He made a matter of fact statement about players not wanting to go out there, and i asked which ones. If he knew, surely its a simple question to answer.

And as i said earlier, complain all you like about Ctown, it's no less of an attraction than Penrith, Canberra, Nth Qld, even NZ would be for players having to move. It's a laughable excuse really. Especially as Geo pointed out earlier that no player has to live there.

Where do you want me to start?

Players, coaches, admin?

They did big plans for Blacktown 10 years ago to take a lot of their training, pathways programs, state matches and admin there.\

However virtually all have fought tooth and nail to keep headquarters at Moore Park and training/games/pathways programs there.

Thats Why Cricket NSW are putting down a pitiful amount of money to this project.

Names please

You love riding the bloke don't you GNR, he said he works with these people yet that's not enough for you.

Nope, because it's pretty easy to insinuate.

The same can be said for 80% of the posts on this forum.

We all get that you're passionate about the Campbelltown area Gunners - But seriously, Comparing Campbelltown to Townsville… Have you ever been to Townsville? You love Sydneys West with so much I'd wonder if you've ever been anywhere...
After all, Where else would you ever want to go?
Shannon Gallant (Western Suburbs LOCAL legend) Refers to living in Townsville as
"The Best 3 Years Of His Life" He's been a player and a resident in both areas.
That said, I have no problem with it... I like the Stadium and the area...
I just don't believe the money is out there... No corporate dollar!! - That may change, But it hasn't yet....
Penrith (And surrounds) has this in abundance. As well as a profitable leagues club in the area that fully supports the team, A head of Football that is second to none... And a thousand other things.

Again, You are comparing chalk and cheese.....

Lets get this thread back on track gents , no use getting excited until July 3 , when we hope we have a majority govt one way or the other

Something tells me otherwise though

You're straying from the point. It's not about how good the area is to live in, people are criticizing it for its remoteness which is bull. It's no more remote than the Gong where the Dragons are based. I don't understand the argument and don't get the concern people have that players might have to travel an extra 20-30 mins to work every day.

Which players are driving from Sydney to Nth Qld, NZ or Canberra each day for training? Poor buggers, and people say that footy players have it easy!

The only comparable club is Penrith, who had to pay massive overs for players prior to Gould coming in and weaving his magic. Nowadays with the state of the art facilities and setup, guys don't mind driving from the beach suburbs to Penrith for training each day. Question is, will players think its worth driving from their inner city pads to UWS Campbelltown each day to share the gym with the NSW girl's u/15 cricket team?

That's the concern, and going off others codes like cricket and AFL snubbing western Sydney in favour of more central training locations, its a legitimate concern.

No I'm not - You exact wording was that Campbelltown was just as attractive as Townsville - You would be the only person on this earth that would lay such a claim….

If the funding is approved and the facilities are state of the art, maybe players won't have a problem traveling to Ctown either. Not sure why you assume the facilities at this place will be second rate.

Comparing Penrith's $22m setup which they have exclusive use of, to the $15m proposal talked of at Campbelltown, which has to be shared amongst cricket, soccer, and rugby league … that's not assuming anything.

Nope, because it's pretty easy to insinuate.

I have been in meetings about pathways programs with some of their coaches (Beau Casson, Phil Jaques, Gav Twining, Trent Johnson) I have talked to previous coaches like Trevor Bayliss and Matthew Mott.

They all fight tooth and nail to stay away from a full time move to Blacktown (which was threatened due to the SFS redevelopment) . They groan when they have to move training out there. It has become a giant white elephant for cricket NSW

I regularly played for years with and against players like Dave Warner, Khawaja, Steve Okeefe, Steve Smith, Henriques, Copeland, Maddinson in first grade cricket and work with them at the same training head quarters at Moore Park they train at 9 months of the year. I have been there for 10 years on and off.

Players cant go on record but they hate playing and training at Blacktown. However they nearly all talk about it in their circles. The place has no atmosphere, is in the middle of no where. The facilities are ok but it cant attract a crowd for anything. Most of NSW young talent regular leave Western Syd Clubs like Hawks, Ctown, Penrith, Blacktown and move to Easts, Manly, Randwick, Sutherland or SYd Uni. They regularly move to live over that way.

Don't take it personally. I have nothing against the area, I just have concerns about move a Team full time out West. Some of these cricketers are on big bucks but
