All pie in the sky stuff, we are tied over the barrel by our existing agreements with Lawrence, Moltzen and maybe one or two others. Unless we can find another club to take on their rather large back loaded contracts, I doubt we will be venturing into the market place. So once again we will be forced to fast track a kid a few years before his time or take the other approach and send a experienced plodder out to battle with the same average results. I really wish I could be optimistic about 2015, but I cant!!!!!
Won't the resignation of Liam Fulton free some money to purchase a new centre/winger?
I was reading a month ago that Fulton's contract will be still in our cap till it expires in two years. The club approached the NRL but were knocked backed. I cant see how a player who has retired still comes under your cap, but apparently that is the case. I suppose it stops clubs from offering a player a early retirement deal on their full contract value in order to get a new player into the club and under the cap, but surly in Fulton's case where it is a well documented injury its a different case
That can't be right SC about Fulton
We would have to get an exemption , we did for Tuiaki and Dwyer
