CEO - Shane Richardson

IF what they said on 360 tonight was true that Moses said Galvin is NOT staying under any circumstances, I love what Richo did.
He even tried to contact his dad to confirm and no call back. (That is very low and disgraceful IMO)_

Board wanted us to ask again and once again Moses said NO.

Soooo Jump ahead of the media with a prefect statement was GOLD.

There is NO way in hell he can continue in a team sport without bringing it down. No choice but to drop him for maybe a few weeks to see how we go and how he goes.
Honestly Parra told his son he's too small to make it, so cut him lose. We train him, teach him, give him a start, give him the keys to our kingdom and a 5 - 6 million dollar long term deal. Father isn't even man enough to pick up the phone to say he wants out but really from the bottom of our families hearts thank you for everything the Wests Tigers have done for our son and family. That man is a piece of 💩

Dont agree with the statement from Tigers. Why blow up what is looking like a fairly promising season now? Why not wait? Views change. I get that last season, and the wooden spoon isn't an environment where a young, promising player would want to be or see the best chance to develop. A good season might well have changed that. Richo has now put an end to it. Galvin's place in the team now isn't sustainable, he will be booed every game if he gets selected. He isn't in for the crocodile role, apparently, but won't be released (not that I think he should), so Richo uses the tough talk selectively, obviously. Latu is constantly injured and cant string games together to be a reliable long term option. Where to now and in the future? Richo released Large without a plan in place because of a Galvin clause (seemed reasonable to me), apparently because he wont be pushed around by managers, one of the best run clubs in the Storm put the same clause in for Pezet around Hughes because it makes sense for all parties. I don't have the blind faith in Richo like many on here.

It’s this piss-weak attitude that led to us being bent over by player managers all these years.

Sure, let’s wait and let Moses use us as a bargaining chip while destabilising the team. Good one, genius.

I tend to agree with what he is saying, at first.
However a lot has come out since that makes we feel we made the right decision with a line in the sand statement.
My question is did Richo jump first or did the media release something that forced his hand?

The starting 58, who's been offered a 5-6 million dollar deal, his manager telling the club that he won't resign and not to table an offer because he doesn't believe in the coach --- that's where it blew up...

Can't blame the tigers for not letting Galvin and moses control the narrative....

Interesting because that's almost a carbon copy of Mitchell Moses. Parramatta sent him packing as a junior and he went across to Wests and started making a name for himself. Clearly there's no place for honour or integrity with some of these players.

You rip the bandaid off so you have time to heal and still play finals. Its the only play we had.

Getting a fair swap for Galvin should come next.
if it is manly then we want Olakuatu
if it is penrith then we can take To'o
if it is roosters then we can take Wong
if it is Dogs we can take Preston
if it is parramatta I am not really interested in anybody they can offer to be honest

The management team totally disrespected the club. They didn’t even negotiate or return calls/messages. Whilst Galvin’s management team totally disrespected Benji.

The kid has been handed everything he wanted & would become a multi millionaire overnight and still wasn’t enough.

Galvin camp has asked for 3 releases already which has put the target on Galvin not the club.

His camp made it clear he doesn’t want to be here. A good season won’t change that.

This is all on Galvin’s camp not on Richo.

From Wests Tigers perspective we have Bud, AD, Latu and $1m + per season to spend. We have clarity and that is public. Players now know that and opportunities in the player market will open up for that. We are for once looking after the club the right way rather than letting players and their managers walk all over us.

Like I said Benji played it perfectly . Make it about the team first let it known if the team thinks Galvin is the best way to win moving forward , and hope that the standards you’ve set within the walls lead to the players coming forward and land driving those standards .
Bang ! The right outcome , but the playing group are the ones who decided for themselves the standards they will and won’t accept .
Turn a shit situation into a learning experience .

Not arguing this is all on Galvin and his management. 100% is. We developed him, gave him the opportunity, and he threw it back in our face.

The issue I had was, why now Richo? If he has asked for 3 releases already, I had heard of perhaps one to this point; then as I said, why blow it up now? Such a promising season. I get that as fans we can be emotional about our team and the disrespect, but it is a business, smarter heads need to make smarter business decisions and take the emotion out of it.

Benji and Richo were going to pick him this weekend; that's incredibly naive; it took the playing group to say no. It was always going to be untenable with the club statement.

Why didn't we work to get a favourable outcome behind closed doors with a player swap that suits us before going nuclear? If its the Dogs why not work to swap for Burton, they wont need him with Galvin and he can play 5/8 or centre (where he played for Origin), which for us are positions we need.

I have a different take on this. I think Richo's done it now to say this kind of garbage, that Moses has done to WT before, and every other player who has wanted a bigger pay cheque and has used WT as a leverage tool, this stops now! We don't care who you are or what you think you're worth, you're not using us to get more money, and you're not making us look stupid any more. So, if you want to play silly buggers, the answer is no. Get your bat and ball and off you trot. It's early in the season. We are going well. Galvin hasn't been setting the game on fire. We've got capable replacements who are not destabilising the team. See ya, son. Off you trot. The way the team is publically criticising him, there must be more to his behaviour/attitude/something.
