I agree. This podcast was a great listen (minus the last 20 minutes when they spoke about the Super League and I lost interest). After a tough week, hearing our CEO come out and speak like that re-affirms that we are on the right track. We have handled this situation the way it needed to be handled and as a result, we can continue to plan for the coming years and move forward.
The couple of outside the club signings will be interesting over the next 2 to 3 weeks. I love how they keep their cards close to their chest on these things.
Also good to hear 4 other players want to do deals from within the club and want to stick around. So there should be some more news there too.
Funnily I stayed around for the ESL talk. Listening to that I have a far greater appreciation for Richo as a CEO from a business and strategy perspective.
I don’t know if it’s just me but Richo talks very much like a politician when discussing the status of his club ie the Tigers, releasing info where necessary and keeping guarded when required. Where as the talk of the strategy around the NRL buying out the ESL he has no direct connection to it so he could be very open with his thoughts, so you got a far greater example of how his mind ticks.
