I expect one of our signing Richo referred to is Talyn May….watch us also go for Tyrone as well for 2026
Yeah nah!

Have you ever watched Tyrone play for either Penrith or in the ESL??

He does not possess the natural talent or skillset we need - or the personal character to add value to the team-first culture we are building under the current strategic recruitment/retention ...

As for Taylan.... He already screwed his interview with Richo - & got sent to rehab as a result!

Which he realistically should have been undertaking prior to his final court date if he had any personal insight or contrition!.

He is a long way off proving that his natural talent outweighs the reputational risks associated with signing him!

I can't see any team touching Taylan until the off-season at the earliest - and most likely only on a train & trial deal after 18 months out of the game!

That sounds like 'we've signed them under conditions'. To me that sounds like they've signed Taylan May to a train on deal for this season (or similar) with a top 30 spot for next season. Similar to Ferguson at the Roosters back in the day when he was training with the Roosters squad for the remainder of the season and then was cleared to play the next season.

I hate to speculate or comment on this type of stuff, but its been documented that Taylan checked in a facility about a month back to deal with his Mental Health. He only just returned to social media this week which would suggest he's completed part of that. It would make sense that it was a condition of him returning to the NRL, or even for him to get an opportunity at the club. It would ring true with Benji and Richos motto of family first and making sure that Taylan himself is in the right headspace. Next step would to be getting him into training with the team for an extended amount of time before exposing him to the NRL.

This is of course speculation, but if true its 100% the right approach, taking care of the human being first and Rugby League second.
Taylan was not charged
What reason could nrl stop him from playing

Yes.

Sage post, i duff my tattered fedora.

And moving into logic mode, Galvin and Satan cant really compare Benji to other coaches, because Galvo wasnt being coached by other coaches.

So he cant really compare or contrast Benji to others during this period of his own player development.

He wouldnt know and indeed no one can know whether or not Ryles or Bellamy would have made him a better half at this point in his career because it hasnt been done.

Its possible a spell with them could have resulted in him being worse than he is now. They dont know.

I agree with you that his mentors and influences at WT are right up there with experience and success.

Greg Inglis?! We can thank his deep and enduring friendship with Richo for that gift. He changed the game.

And whatever struggles hes had coaching, Benji was a dominant footballer for much of his career.
I will defend him on that point, whatever other misgivings I harbour towards him as a coach.
I’m one of those nutters who thinks that every team should have 3 scrum base moves to pull out in opponents’ red zone. I also like to listen to commentary on coach’s half time instructions and all I hear from our camp is “work for each other” or “believe in yourself “ etc.
Where are the strategies that turn a game? They don’t evolve from “play what you see”, could this be what Galvin is missing?

Well considered.

I would make the submission that the coaching deficit Galvin relies upon concerns his own personal development.

And he opines that he is not being served as well as he might be elsewhere.

But at its highest, this is a guess and is extraordinarily difficult to evidence without a direct comparison with alternative coaching, over the same period.

I think the decision to leave was made and then justifications selected to rally to the cause.

My contacts tell me that behind the scenes, Richo has been less than diplomatic with "Team Galvo" for quite some time and for well over a year.

Thanks for your thoughts on the issue. I am appreciative and quite open to them otherwise.

We've won 5 from 9. Lost 2 games by 2 points and scoring plenty of 4 pointers. Coach seems to be doing something right.

I get what you are saying, but I don't think the real halftime instructions are meant for public knowledge cos why let other coaches hear what it is that you are planning? So, Coach A says "we're gonna play the old Statue of Liberty move when we have a scrum on the right inside their red zone". Meanwhile, Coach B's best boy e.g. Simon Dywer is watching Fox Sports and reports back: "look out for the old Statue of Liberty Play Bonge"....

2FC:

" Thanks boys, the coaches message at half time was pretty much that every player in the team is a sissy f&$tard and that the worst decision of his life was to put his hand up to coach them."

"He said that someone is going to have to do a number on that mulleted moron at the back, and whoever injures him badly enough is the only one who will get his contract renewed."

"He said that the game is beyond winning, and it doesnt matter how they play, none of them will standing up after training this week which starts 430am tommorrow"

So just that halftime scoreline again listeners, Wests Tigers 47, Melbourne Storm 1. We go a break to pay the bills:

Brydens lawyers is a thrill
For the injured and the ill
From a million dollar settlement
The legal costs left us with nil.

Might have something to do with the 18 yr old the coach had set for a starting spot requesting multiple releases before he’d played a game and Richo even had his feet under the desk?
Who knows…

Yeah he was charged, but it was later dismissed because the "alleged" victim didnt turn up to court.
but I can’t see the nrl having any grounds to withhold because he wasn’t convicted. Regardless of whether anyone thinks it to be true or not
