To me, an outlaw (outside of being a criminal), is the belief that no one including management, fans, competition or organisational administration etc.. defines who you are. You define yourself and you dont give a shit what others think. Its a rebellious world view.
Its not a very team orientated mindset.
Add that to the silly crocodile roll (I still dont know what that means), and theres some mixed messages coming out of Concord.

Keep it simple. Our motto should be "Enough is enough".
For too long, we’ve been the bullied. The punchline. The pitied and mocked. A club that others look down upon, irrelevant to anyone but the loyal, die-hard supporters who suffer week in and week out. We’ve been a joke, but jokes don’t win games, and this ends now. We’ve been labeled as “Outlaws,” but let’s be honest, that’s not us. Outlaws stand alone, indifferent to the world around them. But we are not alone. We are brothers. We are a team. If anything, we’re the Outsiders...the ones everyone doubts, the ones no one sees coming. And that is our strength.

2025 marks the beginning of our fightback. The days of living off scraps and surviving in the shadows at the arse end of the table are over. We’re done being the club others circle on the calendar as an easy win. We’re done being a soft target, who roll over. We’re done being everyone’s punching bag. We have genuine talent, real winners, and a hunger that can’t be ignored. We’re going to fight. We’re going to scrap. We’re going to play hard, physical, and smart football. And when the arm wrestle gets tough, we’ll welcome it, because this is where we thrive.

We’ll hit harder. We’ll run faster. We'll work as a gang. We’ll leave everything on the field because we have had enough. We won’t back down. We won’t be intimidated. And when the dust settles, we’ll stand tall, proving to ourselves and the Rugby League world that this club isn’t here to be laughed at...it’s here to compete and to win.
Forget the crocodile roll, disregard the outlaws tag...Enough is enough....it’s a rallying cry for a new beginning and a refusal to accept anything less than greatness.
Great post! The club should invite you in to address the team with this for before the first game of 2025. I don’t get the whole croc roll and outlaws mantra either. Nothing ever good comes from rolling with crocodiles and outlaws usually get shot, so I’m with you on the Enough is Enough theme.

What a post!

Do you mean Pygmalion the play? or Pygmalion in the roman / ovid mythological sense - the sculptor who fell in love with his creation?
Pygmalion in the positive sense as in My Fair Lady. It’s a well known fact that people behave in accordance with the expectations of others. I expect that’s the difference between good coaches and average ones.

As long as they are prepared for all the psycho edge players to test them out.
There are beautiful red bullseyes on each of them.
True. the alternative is “let’s not get ahead of ourselves”
Then again who doesn’t have a target on their back?

I just dont see the need to boast, when youve poven nothing. You can see from the reaction of other fans that it is a bit strange.
We have just over 13 weeks until we play. Id much prefer everyone hold their tongues and work on how we are going to ambush the competition.
We have Newie then Parra first up. We hardly ever beat those teams. Element of surprise...we win those types of games, we play finals.

When Richo made that statement he would have improved our roster, just by saying it. Eels put 60 on us last game so ho are we sneaking up on anyone 😂

I wish he’d shut up quite frankly. We’re coming off 3 spoons. Win some games then mouth off.
They've just done their big sponsorship deal, they want media presence and coverage, that's what Peppermoney signed on for just now.

Another 3 months until there are any on-field results, so the club does want to have off-season coverage especially on their own terms (with no bad results to bring the narrative down).

It's just PR... boost memberships, merch etc.
If at the end of the year we fail again that will be painful yet not surprising to some and Richos words will be just another lot of talking the talk without walking it

Richo has copped a bit on heres since his appointment for lack of action, poor on field results and his style when engaging the media. So how does his overall performance rate after about a year in the chair?

In my view, Richo’s leadership appears to have brought a renewed sense of direction and professionalism. His appointment has been the catalyst for turning the club around, as it has been in desperate need of professionalism and stability since its inception.

Richo has focused on addressing structural issues, rebuilding the club’s culture, and supporting the development of a competitive roster. Key aspects include:
  1. Stabilisation and Strategic Vision: The first thing he accomplished was the development of a strategic plan to guide the club into the future. He established some lofty goals and from this developed and commenced execution of an operational plan to achieve the goals. He emphasised the importance of stability in coaching, roster management, and governance. This approach aligns with his proven model at other clubs; particularly Souths, where he contributed to their 2014 premiership
  2. Partnership with Benji Marshall: He did not appoint Benji as the coach; however, has strongly backed him. He has worked to ensure that Benji has the resources needed to rebuild the team, focusing on strengthening the roster. The appointment of Hodgo as an assistant coach has raised questions about the quality of the recruiting process and the panel interviewed; in some circles this has reflected poorly on Richo’s judgement. The performance of the NRL team in 2025 will make or break the coaching staff. However, as Benji was appointed by the previous administration Richo is in a win/win situation. Success will favour his judgement and failure will enable him to rectify the poor judgement of the previous administration for appointing an inexperienced coach on such a long-term contract.
  3. Cultural Reset: He, along with Benji, are addressing the longstanding cultural and structural issues within the club. Early indications suggest progress, with renewed optimism among stakeholders and increased engagement with fans and sponsors.
  4. Challenges Ahead: Despite efforts, our competitive struggles persist. Achieving tangible on-field success remains a critical goal. Achieving the strategic intent of dragging West Tigers from the bottom of the NRL to a high performing organisation both on and off the field will take some time. On balance the club appears to be heading in the right direction.
Overall, Richo’s tenure, has brought a sense of direction and professionalism that I don’t think the club has seen previously. While his efforts to instil stability and support Benji have been widely praised in the media, the true measure of his impact will lie in the club’s ability to translate these changes into sustained on-field success. With significant challenges still ahead, Richo’s leadership has so far only laid the foundation. Significant work is still required to build the Club; however, for the first time in over a decade there is hope of a brighter future.

I think he's the right man for the job.

Yes, he is ignorant, however there remains other ways to succeed. For starters, mentorship. Swallow your pride and bring someone of substance with appropriate experience in to help him.
Faking anything is not a long term solution.
Do it correctly the first time and set building blocks that will remain well after you leave.
And ignorance is not bliss as we all could concur.
