I have a feeling Richo has been monitoring the temperature very closely and has decided that Tigers were being strung along, so rather than wait for the media circus in November when he is free to test the market, they drew a line in the sand now - a big contract upgrade or you leave.

Definitely Tigers have been stung badly in the past being nice and hoping to convince the player to stay (or join) and found out instead they were just being used as a bargaining chip.

James Hooper is adamant today that the club told him Benji made the decision to drop Galvin, not the players, but he instead ran his decision by the senior players for feedback and they agreed with him.

Your last paragraph - don't think there is any legitimate way to work on a player swap behind closed doors. Already the offer to Galvin was being kept fairly quiet until very recently, but Tigers know Isaac Moses will leak to the press as soon as suits him and there is no chance Tigers would be able to work on a parallel deal like a trade or favourable release and still keep everything hush.
Agree. The club is controlling the narrative.

The push back in the media was always going to happen by vested interests. We do this now, get it out of the way so less damage done coming into finals and next season when we in the up. It is an icky feeling but a hell of a lot better if we were strung along until November, losing other young talent, only for Galvin to walk then.

Moses, Matterson, Alolai, Leilua, and now Galvin any others mid contract that sulked kicked stones or have made the situation untenable?
Ben Hunt never got away with that it at St George till they were ready to move him on.
Tapau. Signed with Manly whilst on Tour, came back to request a release.

Do u need glasses, because what u have put out , makes me think u can’t read what has gone on , if u want to support Galvin and Moses just come out and say it , the club didn’t do anything wrong , it was Galvin and his manager who pulled out a 7 line attack on benji , so I don’t get anything that u have said
Nope not really. I’m not in Galvin’s camp. I’m all for the Tigers winning and building a strong culture. This isn’t similar to Melbourne with JAC.
They went on to make a Prelim with him still in the side each week for the final season.
Now it’s all speculation as to how committed Galvin is to the team but it is still a distraction and will continue as such until it’s resolved.
Each week he isn’t picked it will be spoken about, each game we lose it will be spoken about.
The only thing that is certain to keep the noise low is to win games. Does our team have it in us to continue winning, I don’t think so just yet, so every loss will be critiqued that much more whilst Galvin is at the club and not playing first grade.

Think our chances of winning will help if Doueihi slots seamlessly back into 7, he played well there in the trial but this is for 2pts.
What we don't want is for the old hog style to come back into his game hopefully he's learnt from that guess we will find out on Monday.

Think I know why Slothfield has been speaking highly of us recently. He was on Webby’s podcast yesterday and mentioned that he had a sour relationship with Richo until recently when they had a coffee together at the Centre of Excellence. I almost fainted from surprise, he spoke very highly of both Richo and the Tigers.

Smart move by Richo in getting one of the louder voices in the media on our side (even if he is an old annoying drunk).

But doesn't it just show how fickle the media can be, produce an olive branch and they flip straight away, it won't take much to turn the other cheek again but for now it's useful.

Hopefully he doesn't take on Galvin's game plan and unlike Galvin realizes that the hero play is not in the best interests of the team.

Speaking of which, I can’t believe how much Galvin hogs the ball.

I hope he collides with a team mate this weekend when making a tackle and gets KOed.

Compelling. Rich.

I just wish Luai would take more control of the play. We all know what he can do. Galvin is a ball hog and Doueihi has been prone to doing this as well. Luai needs to demand the ball more and not let other playmakers hog it all the time.

I’m not sure I agree with that. I don’t understand why the Tigers (Richo) and I Moses couldn’t of kept this decision under wraps and potentially allow him to play out the season, introducing Latu into the mix when ready and having Galvin fade back into a role player.
Also knowing his decision privately would of allowed the club to start looking at the roster next season and potentially court players to join for 26 as a replacement or backup.
When is anything in the NRL kept under wraps lol. No chance of it happening, and it better the tigers being the one to control the situation than his manager, Galvin and the sensationalist journalists who don't care about the team, but about the drama and clicks on the article.

Batemans contract issues at Canberra came out the week they were playing the grand final.

Certain player managers don't care about the team, it's about the contract.

Disruption now vs round 26, if we are a chance of making the semis, is 100 times the better option.

I am convinced the tigers played this almost perfectly.

Lol yes that may happen also I have said in the past with his sideways running one day an aggressive forward will line him up and absolutely punish him.
If I was Benji I would be telling him this week to work on picking his times better to run the ball for more impact, that's if he is prepared to listen get the feeling that he knows all.

Especially now that “test the market” seems to have been reduced to what can Parramatta offer me.

This is working out really well for Tigers and their fans. I’m sure Moses would have liked to string Tigers along until November, but well done Richo for dragging out a response from Moses and Galvin without even making an offer.
We’ve gone from continually being hopeful to acquiescing which has given us the freedom to plan ahead with some certainty.
We’re already a better team for it.
Love your work Richo!

Doueihi will do what he’s asked to do. Guys been shuffled almost the whole backline and seems happy just to be here and do a job.
