If they can be better so can we…lets wait and see what the new defense coach brings, just because the club say there'll be no new recruits, there is always new recruits, depth players...maybe another JAC or ET ...things very very rarely pan out as you think, of course I may be wrong and we slide down instead of improve like we did this year ladder wise, if that continues we make the eight

We should improve, but Top 4 looks too far.
Some tough decisions need to be made during pre-season, as we cant go into 2017 without making changes to our defensive structure.

We lose the middle way to often ...the edges will always struggle..Every game we have won this year we either dominated or matched the opposition up front

Agree. We don't have the size or aggression in the forwards and we don't have the defensive structure to suffocate teams out of the game. And last but not least, we don't have the week to week aptitiude to consistently knock over teams.

I hope you're right and I'm wrong as well….
Maybe it's a case of this they were worse than they should be - That may well be us next year.
My point is, We Steven Bradbury'd a shot at the eight this year.
Now all and sundry are saying we're on the up... I just don't see it!!
Every man and his dog publicly criticised our right side defence, All year!! (Bar 1st 2 rounds) Hell, I even asked a member of the WT's staff if it was a worry - His reply was "It's not my job"
A former captain of our club told me it got the better of him so much that he actually rang the club staff to discuss it.
Yet, nothing was done about it.....
This squad just doesn't have the old hard heads in it who've been there and done that to tell them how it should be.
On one side you have Aloaia, Moses, Naiqama and Nof, On the Other Rowdy, Brooks, Simona and Rankin... Barely 100 games NRL experience a side.
Who's teaching who what? They're all amatuers....
Wasn't there last year, Wasn't there this year and I'm pretty sure it won't be there next year.
- Unless we make some positional changes and buy some class for the starting line up.
I definately have to agree with a majority of posters regarding our defense of the right side as well as not having size and quality within our team…..having said that,let's step outside the square and look at the previous 2 seasons ...
Last year we had very inexperienced young players trying to understand and play to the key NRL structures,just for a moment have a look at that,young guys learning up against seasoned hard playing proffessionals,a difficult task when your trying your best to learn while being belted,this is put down to experience and still learning while trying not to make the same mistakes...it takes time and confidence,it happens over time,NOT overnight...
This year most assumed we would be about bottom 4,(just an assumption considering our roster),however during the year we had dramas unfold,no decent recruitment of top quality players and we had to go ahead with what we have.... There was much better improvement with attitude and playing out the grind,not great but slightly better,as we all said we have not got top line players right across the team,however Taylor got them to bordering on the top 8,once again a better result than the previous year...
2017 should be a better year considering we have no more dramas as with RF and JT in the headlines all the time and we have gotten rid of Kidwell so hopefully they will do a thorough search for an acceptable D coach,add in a couple of hard heads if we have money and we will have more stability and maybe experience in key positions....
I have faith in JT to try and achieve his goals next season uninterrupted,this will be his last season if he does not achieve what he sets out to do...we must support everything within this club from admin to coaching staff and finally the players we have for next season,it won't be easy and at times as we all know this team and club can frustrate us no end,but we must stick,we must not fall prey to the " we are no chance with this team and coach", we must have faith,I'm already starting to count down ready for season 2017...
