The longer this saga goes on, the more likely it will become clear that V'Landys is nothing more than an opportunist whose leadership style of "have a win at any cost" is decidely dangerous in times such as these.

He is the Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon of Australian sports leaders; a man of limited intellience, a huge ego and self-belief who is emboldened by success, as measured by his own metrics.

Well he's kept racing going.

On his own he hasn't. It's not just NSW that is continuing to race at the moment. What about the other leaders in other states?

But, in NSW the feature races on tomorrow have all had to take up to a 50% cut in prizemoney, under V'Landys' leadership. So when he (allegedly) says he will come to an agreement with Nine, I suspect it will be in Nine's benefit, not the NRL's.

In fact, I think Hugh Marks knows V'Landys is a goose who will settle for some sort of "victory" that will stroke his ego and self-belief. The reality, though, will be completely different.

As you may have guessed, I don't rate him at all as a leader. In fact, I think Greenburg has better leadership qualities than V'Landys.

Time will tell I guess.

Totally VLandys is coming across like a maniac. I will be shocked if the season does start in May. When it falls apart it will be no surprise at all. What the hell is he doing. After all the insanity of trying to keep the comp running when it clearly should never started. He is a greedy fellla destroying what's left of the NRL brand to the public. The casual viewers don't give a toss. They are over this NRL crap. People are dealing with their livelihood.

A lot of livelihoods depend on the NRL too.

People are dealing with their lives and livelihood, any business should be doing its upmost to keep people employed. That is the way out of this situation!

I don't get the anti NRL mob. Miners can still fly interstate, you can still get a haircut, get a zinger, go into kmart, go into a carpet store, grab a coffee and building sites are still open. But the NRL want to keep their business going???? Maniacs

Yeah I get your point. If anybody knows any professional sports playing in May let me know. Perhaps there are some I don't know. It seems all are prohibited by professional and health organisations. I also watched the latest Aus department of Health and they said NRL can't play by their own exempt rules. I stand by my belief playing in May is long odds wild gamble, which is what I meant be 'maniac'. Long odds indeed. Gotta be. UFC pulled the biggest fight which would have landed huge money compared to NRL because they were forced to by professional sporting licensed. It's a bad look to see people making contact. There are still a lot of nutters that I hink covid is a conspiracy and watching contact sports unfortunately aids their cause

It’s not just personalities, politics or the Couldn’t care NRL people.
It’s the unnecessary risk NRL are taking in this.
Good example is the ongoing hit the cruise line industry is taking and being labelled negligent ..... a label that will stick for many years to come. Current steps by passengers taking class action against the industry will hurt bad.
And don’t tell me being a front runner and proceeding with a comp before ALL boxes are well and truly ticked by not just by the NRL but all government and medical bodies ..... is not taking a similar path. Bit of Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon mentality about this approach.
It’s just plain silly and a bad look and could came and bite the game very hard.

The NRL aren't proposing to proceed before all boxes are ticked by relevant authorities.

I agree with most of what you say except for the bit about miners.
I work in the mining industry and cannot fly into Western Australia without isolating for 14 days then going to work and staying there and not returning home until all this is over.

Fair enough Hank, wasnt aware of the full details. I feel bad for anyone that's lost they're job or their job had become unmanageable.
But if players agree to those sort of conditions then I can't see why anyone would have an issue.
