Well I definitely fall into that category.
There are plenty of triumphs stored in my black & white memory bank ...

*The 1974 knock out semi final win over two times premiers Manly
*1978 minor premiership when Roy’s boys remained unbeaten at home
*The 1977 Amco Cup win
* The 1983-1985 court battles against the NSWRL
*Andrew Willis miracle field goal and Tommy’s unlikely semi finalists of 1996
*The classic victory over Souths in 1976 (Rex Mossop claiming it the best club game he ever witnessed)
And post the WESTS Tigers we’ve had the Magpies win the 2002 SG Ball & 2022 Matthews Cup premierships

I'm not here to inflate ego, just to speak up for something I care about.
If that comes across as self-importance to you, I hear the feedback.

But I'm not sure how defending a legacy, questioning governance, and calling for respectful inclusion gets spun into a caricature.
If arguing for fair representation makes me a villain, it says more about the culture than the cause.

I don't pretend to be a keeper of the Magpie flame, but I refuse to let it be snuffed out without a voice.
This forum should be a place where all Wests Tigers supporters, regardless of their founding allegiance, feel safe to express their views.
Right now, it doesn't always feel that way for those of us who speak from a Magpies POV.

You clearly care about the betterment of the NRL club, and I respect that.
But preserving legacy and advocating for fairness doesn't diminish progress, it strengthens it.

Thanks for reading. No hard feelings from me, just different perspectives trying to coexist.

Hey @BZN. Here's the thing I think you tend to miss in your arguments. The "owners" are not the owners; they are just people in charge at the moment.

Everyone just wanted the people in charge to start acting in the best interests of the football club, rather than themselves. If that required a change in governance or restructuring, that's what it was. No one had issues with the "owners" (i.e. Members), just the dysfunction in the current leadership.

It's not a Balmain vs Magpies thing. It's a competency vs incompetency thing.

Mate it’s a Wests Tigers forum ... filled with followers of a club who’ve triumphed in completing a wooden spoon three-peat, the club which boasts more home grounds than semi final appearances, when it comes to being dysfunctional, the Wests-Ts are the epicentre of the sporting world ...

You talk a lot about respect.... it seems to me you want people to respect something theyre not interested in... this is first and foremost a WTs forum, the majority of NRL fans aren't interested in reserve grade... you cant force people to like our be interested in things they don't want to be.
Plus many look at HBG (Wests Ashfield) as not very supportive of WTs compared to other clubs... this has been an issue since the 60s with the league club not supporting the Magpies since then and nowadays WTs... you cant force respect... respect is earnt
When i agreed i think it was with with suz in that youre doing more harm than good to the magpie brand here...its the constant repetitive narrative that is close if not is trolling that annoys people and does you no favours....much like your constant badgering of cochise which imo is harrasment.
You do yourself and the magpies no favours with the never ending narrative...thats my point.
