Charlie Staines #262

Mixed feelings from forum members regarding Charlie but for me he gave the Tigers all he had for a small player charging fearlessly into the defense it's a shame they could never get him into the clear to see if he still possessed the pace shown at the riff.

Well maybe he can show it in the ESL, guess this might point to Naden staying on for depth.

With you. Charlie just did not work out. I don't know why, but it doesn't matter.

Cheers for your efforts and best of luck with catalan.
He was just not as good as a lot was babbling on about. One 5 try game doesn’t make a champion, not a bad debut though. That’s why they let him go so easy they had a bigger sample size.
But, at our club he has preformed to the best of his ability without any carry on, and seems like a nice young fella, so I can respect that, and (especially after his ball tearing game he had with us), wish him well.

Rocky, you know what I’m talking about, good coaches see particular skills and utilise those skills. Look at Dene Halatau, he must have played every position in the team but Sheens knew he could add enormous value to the team by keeping them rolling down town. Nobody did it better.
Sorry mate I couldn't resist some humour, his new coach has obviously unlocked him and it's good to see, always had time for Charlie.

If only we could have promoted space for his speed, hardly ever seen him in the open with us.

Shit Stains was his nickname for a reason, bloke perforated his bowels in 2023 wiping him out for most of the year, had a decent to average 2024, hardly world beating stuff. Forbes Ferrari was more like the Forbes Datsun during most games, saw very little of the 'pace' he was apparently noted for. Come 2025 he missed the first couple of months with injury and was surpassed by Skelton, Luke, Toa, Bula, Tino, Maka coming through. There just wasnt a place for him. Very much a Corey Thompson type player. Solid without being a world beater. If the Tigers want to play finals footy they needed to be aiming higher. SL seems like his place.
