I would love to see an added stat of metres gained from contact, not including the run up. Most forwards make 5-8 metres before hitting the line, so they're only really making 3-4 metres a hit up.
I reckon this is why the Bulldogs were so good last year, their forwards would pass the ball just before the line and were gaining a few extra yards. Maybe with our smaller more mobile pack Potter should be looking at taking a leaf out of Haslers book in this way. However, there's a fine line between going for an extra few metres or making a mistake passing, catching and securing the ball under pressure at the line.
