Lantrak Man of the Match: Round 9

A standout performer in a losing side has seen Michael Chee Kam named the Lantrak Man of the Match from Wests Tigers clash with the New Zealand Warriors.

Brought off the bench after six minutes after Chris Lawrence succumb to injury, Chee Kam was immense against the Warriors — running for a team high 190 metres off his 18 runs.

The 190 metres are the most by an individual off the bench for Wests Tigers in over five years.

Chee Kam also added 32 tackles, seven tackle breaks and an offload to his 190 metres (68 of which came post-contact), and he can certainly hold his head high despite his side's disappointing defeat.

On your Foxsports/NRL stats post:

16\. Chee-Kam - 159 metres in attack, 18 runs, 26 tackles

That is a big discrepancy.

Not much I can do about that with two separate stats teams doing their own thing.

Even if you take the average he was still a Beast !

There are two options for him - replace Rochow or Naiqama. He should be one of the first picked.

I'd have him replacing Rochow 100%.

Don't want two back rowers in the centers..

I know you can't do anything about it Willow - just saying they are hugely different numbers.
Maybe they watched different games.

Pointing out difference in numbers only. Which one is right????

He is played very well this week. However imo he is certainly not a Beast.

Did not watch the game but whatever figures are correct that is one impressive performance and worthy of a starting spot whether at centre or second row

I thought he blows out after 20 minutes? Cant play anymore, falls into a heap, misses tackles after 20, cant play 80 in the centres because he isn't fit enough….....

Ummm happy tiger and Geo, you think little ole MCK still cant Handle more then a good 15 or 20 mins?

He is without doubt our best left centre.
One of the fastest in the club over 20 metres, moves well off both feet, causes havoc with every touch. Brooks, Lawrence, Chee kam on our left is it my friends. Just admit it. Kev looked so slow today it was sad.

Chee Kam left centre outside Brooks and Lawrence thank you.

when i was watching the game (early on) i was thinking "didnt Chee-Kam use to be good at Manly?"
last night he played WAY better than he has since being at the tigers, so i think he has deserved the criticism up to the last few weeks.

awesome he is playing well though and i think moving him to the centres (for what, the 53rd time?) might actually be a good move this time around.

Tacky, sign me up as well.
Always rated him, but since the end of last season he's gone to a new level.
Second row though.

I've run out of characters for my signature, so I guess you're the last member of the club…....

Manly reserve grade?
Only made grade there five times.

Easily his best game for us. But one great game doesn't make a star. This game probably evens out his poor game against Parra. And he still has a fair bit of good will to earn from me.

Still a benchie for mine.

But he plays to this standard every week there's a good career ahead of him.

He starts in place of Lawrence this week and has most certainly jumped ahead of Aloiai in the pecking order. Far more consistent this year, and he actually is a back rower. Aloiai can compete with Sue, Eiso and Grant for a bench prop spot.

Can he play right side is the question. He's looked great playing at left back row, but only been playing there as Lawrence gets injured every 2nd game. If he can play right he probably can own that spot for the rest of the season.

And let's not play him at centre again (unless as an emergency during a game due to injury). Moving him back and forth between the centres and back row has stopped him getting any momentum.

I think you'll find if Lawrence is out McQueen will start..

I think Clearly likes Chee-Kam off the bench unless he switches it up with Rochow..
