Chris Heighington

Guys I can confirm that Chris Heighington has been offered a 1 year contract for the 2017 season by the Wests Tigers..

Haha… I don't believe this for 1 minute

Well Rhino , if true you'd better be an 80% + goal kicker when you arrive

I miss his running in behind the markers , doesn't everyone else ??

The story always was that Heigno hated having to do that but that it was the coach's instruction. I never liked it.

good news if chris is coming back to finish his career at the tigers, always gave his all and never got much recognition for his high work rate on the field….if he can teach some of our younger players to prepare for a game and give it 100% like he does week in week out we will be a much better team

Top 4 here we come!

Seriously though, seems a superfluous signing when we have much bigger issues elsewhere. We already have a strong 4 man prop rotation and Felise waiting in the wings.

As long as Halatau retires Chris has one good year left in him.

This is my take to, we surely can't carry Dene again next year. :crazy

Halatau won't be with us next year. As for Heigno, well I'd rather we sign up E Taylor first.

ET is a must Rhino would be a good cheap backup who is a good team man.
I'd rather we kept with younger veteran players 50-100 games experience.

Rhino … Haha most ineffective forward... Best remembered for swearing on TV during our G/F win and nominated captain of Central Coast Bears

This place is unbelievable - People talk about Hayne joining and it's "No" from all and sundry, However Heighno (A guy we have been paying for almost half a decade to play against us) and everyone wants to bring him back.

Unless he is returning to lay out the witches hats at training he should enjoy his final years elsewhere.

We already have the best fullback in the NRL.

Heighno would be great back-up if cheap enough.

I like Heighington. He's a whole hearted player and good in defence. However I can't really see a position for him. I don't want him in the second row because he stifles the attack. When he played there before, he would always take a mindless hit up when the ball needed to go through the hands. You need to be able to pass as a second rower.
He played much better in the middle where he had good energy and got some offloads away. However we aren't going to have him replacing ET at 13 and we have 4 good props with some young ones coming through. So I can't see him making the 17\. Having said that you can never have too many props in your 30 man squad. As soon as a few props get injured, it's a real concern.

Do I like Heighington as a person - Yes

Do I want him playing for us again - NO

We have been making some good decisions recently - I fail to see how he would even be considered unless O'Neill is getting an old boys club together again. Even if we are going to pay him $50.00 - that is $50.00 we could use to help with ET.
Don't believe this rumour at all myself.

We would also have to buy another ball again, one for him and one for the team.

I know every one is starting to go for the like for like replacement system but replacing one guy who is past it, with another guy who is past it, is carrying it way too far.

If true, we do not know why he has been offered a contract. Is it because we can afford ET, is because another player is packing up and going elsewhere. We do not know, anyway if it was my call I would not be offering him or anyone else of his age a contract. I think we have to leave pathways open for players like JJ and MCK. By first round next year most of our top 17 will have had a lot of NRL games under their belts so we should be well off in the experience department.

Anyway as I said you have to have a door slightly open to keep these very good fringe players interested

No from me.
He doesn't threaten anyone… Doesn't run hard... Doesn't offer impact... Defensively he is sound I guess.. One plus there

Can't see it happening. Focus has to be on securing ET, Sue & Ava before even considering Heighno!!

Thing is, like Halatau, if he's fit he'll be in our top 17 somewhere. Haven't really seen him play this year so can't comment on his form but he's coming up to the end of his career now and should probably take the money in the UK for a year or two. Set himself up a bit more.

If he's a squaddie at 100k and plays 10 games and works his ass off at training then fine. None of his mates will be at the club next year so it wouldn't exactly be a 'reunion' either…

I hope this is not to replace E Taylor , if this club let ET go nobody in the whole place is fit to hold a position , he is a great signing so far , settled in well , playing great footy , we need to sign him up now , today , priority , how dumb some people are in good jobs still amazes me , we need to get an update from our leader in Pascao and lay the cards on the table
ET will be with us next 2 or 3 years , just paperwork
Farrah , ?
New signings , is there going to be any
Eg , Kicker , centre ,

I'm sure your cousin is great friends with Rhino but that's not a confirmation - that's a rumour with a source.

Whilst I think ET is a must, Heighno has been playing pretty good for the sharks, better than Dene has for us, he can offload at will, but it would depend on price.
We need a winger, centre and secondrower, preferably one who kicks goals, although I think Moses will be a decent kicker by next year.

From what i read its a rumor
And it says he has been offered, nothing about him signing and taking it up yet.

For i all know the club would low ball him and he would say no thanks
Like Benji did to the dragons and now is contract less for 2017
