Honestly what has this guy got to do to make higher rep honours - this guy puts in week after week and gives 100% every game - tonight 23 runs fro 158 mtrs, 5 tackle breaks, 28 tackles and 1 offload - i rate him second only to Gallen as a backrower yet he doesn't rate a mention - shame on Stuart, shame on Bozo and shame on NSW.

never a truer word spoken an absolute legend…surely he could at least get on the bench for n.s.w infront of merrin?

Plays for the Tigers, We simply don't get a look in. No doubt if he was a dragon he'll probably be there.

if heighington was a QLDer, he'd have played 2 years ago.

nsw are using the wrong strategy….
qld's forwards are full of the best gutsy players possible they can pick, players that put in the hard yards
nsw forwards are just solid, they'd go well at a club level but gallen is the only gutsy forward we have.

heighno
stewart (glenn)
hindmarsh

3 players that should be there, yet aren't.

imagine:

8\. gallen
9\. ennis / (obviously farah is #1 but its clear it aint happening).
10\. merrin (not 100% on this? - maybe snowden, but he's not as reliable as merrin)
11\. heighno
12\. hindmarsh
13\. stewart

add watmaugh & co on the bench and we'd have a chance to dominate the qld forwards for once.

Unfortunately, I think Chris cruelled his chances of ever playing Origin when he threatened to make himself available to play for England if they didn't pick him. The selectors don't take too kindly to ultimatums.

Maybe he should have pissed in public - obviously thats a bit of laugh to Bozo and Stuart.

his last two games have been some of the best footy ive seen him play. but in saying that, i do believe gallen, bird, lewis and watmough deserve to be there for nsw more than heighno does. id have him over creagh and scott though

St George may be a very good side as they have a very strong all round team, but Chris Heighington is playing consistently better than the Dragons back rowers two of whom have been selected for NSW. Ben Creagh did get MOM against us last week and is a very good player in his own right, but I don`t think there was any doubt that Heighington was the best player on the field in a losing side last week and deservedly won MOM tonight, he is in career best form. Galloway was also very good tonight and is a definate SOO player when on his game, he only has himself to blame for missing out through inconsistency. Tim Mannah plays ok, but not near as good as Learoyd-Lahrs, Dan Hunt or Keith Galloway at this stage. Kade Snowden dogged it in the test match against the Kiwis and again in SOO1, he has proven to be faint hearted and is much over rated. Trent Merrin goes ok, but not near as good as Learoyd-Lahrs, Dan Hunt or Keith Galloway. Imagine someone told us we were swapping Galloway for Trent Merrin, we`d all be up in arms!

If you compare Heighno to the current Blues stats, sure, he does well.

But compared to QLD stats, I don't think he cuts it.

http://www.nrl.com/repgames/stateoforigin/originplayerstats/maroonsplayerlist/tabid/11031/clubid/27/default.aspx

He is averaging 30 tackles a game and 7 metres per hit up - not enough. Also, I noticed in the last game, every time he makes a hit-up, he will do a hip-hop spin….if he continues like that, I don't think he will ever play for the Blues.

I like the guy and hope he makes it one day.
