Chris Lawrence let down by Tigers

Come back ? Go to England and finish your career there .ive had enough of the pattisons ,lulias ,Richards that come back after playing In the soft epl .add Fulton to the list .these players are the reason we don't play in the end of season games ..and take big Kathy with Lawrence .

Chris has been a brillant payer for the West Tigers. Lets hope this break will give him plenty of rest to recover from his previous injuries.Hope he will return to his best form for us. He is one with great attitude, lets hope his body will listen to him and he will return to his best form ever, the one that we know, not the recent crap.

Harsh on Fulton 1/4

He went to the ESL to help us stay under the cap

I wish we had 17 show up with Fulton's mindset every week

Only a wests fan would hang praise on Fulton ..he tried his guys out every time he wore our colors ,but he was never a game winner or a player that could pull off a sensational hit .if he played for one of the bigger clubs he would not have played first grade , simple as that .too small to compete with the big islanders ,and that's why his career is over .

Maybe reread what I wrote mate

I said if the players had Fulton's MINDSET

I should have known better. This was always going to turn into a bash Lawrence thread. Silly me for thinking another angle could result in a positive outcome for Chris, the club and the fans. For some to not even consider the possibility shows true colors IMO.

I'm not one to bump up threads to prove a point but I will be bumping this one up next year if Lawrence gets his body right, and I will do it with a great deal of "stuff you", to all the negative bums in this thread.

No drama with those who disagree with my point and show that they would love it to work out, it's the others who just plain clearly hope Lawrence is finished and want to put the boot in every chance.

KS Every one of us wants to see Rowdy at his best again

I think of his debut in Brisbane , that try v Melbourne and pray every day he will find the magic again

Do I think the Tigers did the wrong thing by Chris , possibly overbulked him but with the hammy issues and the hip issues he was always going to struggle to regain his best

Rowdy I really hope you can shove all our words back down our throat in 2015 and prove many of us wrong

Lovely bloke , deserves a bit of luck imo

Put simply, if Lawrence is not replaced in first grade by a capable centre Wests Tigers are again down the gurgler in 2015.

Does the club sack him or simply demote to NSW Cup?

Either way we are still paying his wage out of our cup meaning we are behind the 8 ball already before R1, is this a real solution to the issue?

The alternative is to keep him in the centres where he continues to be a liability. I don't see the purpose of keeping a guy in first grade just cos we still have to pay him regardless.

EPL?

Superleague isn't as soft as some ignorant people like to believe.

Furthermore, they've now got a better game than the NRL, however the NRL have immensely better players.

The SL is better to watch as the refs have a better grasp of the rules and are slightly more consistent tha their NRL counterparts.

But most importantly, they have next to no wrestling in their game. They even penalise players for trying to work a tackled player in an attempt to slow down the play the ball.

He would make a great doorman at wests leagues, patrons slipping through his grasp

Also six year olds who were denied entry cause of age could test out his lateral movement and just side step him into the club.

Well put KS.Im pretty sure Chris's injury problems would be sorted with an intense yoga regime. Also most of our other injured players aswell.

Why should we continue to find ways to help this bloke? He played a few dozen great games for us whilst sucking millions from our caps sitting on his arse.

He doesn't have the body to play NRL. Cut losses and sell him overseas.

Happy I have had 2 reconstructions and I mean no disrespect to the doctors u mention and I did consider what u are saying before I posted. My main point is not against those who operated and other doctors. You find that they advise to a degree on rehab but in actual fact have very little to do with the long term recovery regarding rehab. And that's where I feel the best avenues for Chris as an individual haven't been explored, through and combination of rehab and conditioning. Both John's and Minichielo seeked help from outside there club to specifically focus on there needs by an appropriate expert. The Tigers need to do this with Chris.

I'm not saying he will get back to his best, all um saying is that he hasn't had the best chance yet and hopefully that will change.

KS, you are right! The details of the rehabilitation do not come from the surgeon, but from the rehabilitation experts. They develop the specific work to be done by the player and they monitor the results, so they can change the exercises to meet the player's needs.

No - he is completely wrong. It makes me think that a bunch of you have no idea when it comes to rehabilitation of injuries.

My issue stems from constant comments like "sack him", "wipe him", "replace him". I can't see how they are real workable solutions. You are asking a club to start ~$350k down in their cap before R1.

A different comment would be if people wanted him to start in NSW Cup and tell him to earn a recall, but that doesn't seem to be the intention of the "sack him/wipe him/replace him" brigade.

We can either offer him to other clubs at a reduced rate and pay the difference (which still comes out of our cap), keep him in the starting side, send him back to NSW Cup with a mission to regain consistent form.

Personally I have come around on the idea of taking him out of the centres (where he struggles positionally) and reshape his career in the backrow. This would likely see him start in NSW Cup and struggle to crack the side unless injury/suspensions hit, but I don't see this change being beyond him given his natural talent/ability and age.

I think most of us have a soft spot for Chris. But you have to face reality . A forum mate quoted this: Chris is body cannot catch up to his spirit.

KS,agree to a point, but also he needs a confidence boost after the severe injury he had,and this does take time although he seemed to have enough time to produce better performances.I believe and some won't agree with me that Lote had bad injuries and did nothing for us during his time with us,the chance he has been given at Souths he has produced great football and is older than Rowdy,I contribute this to hard work under Maguire and very good S&C facilities, and also CONFIDENCE in your playing ability… :sign:

I couldn't agree more. Lote Tuqiri has gone from strength to strength since joining Souths, and I'm sure that is due to better facilities.

He spent most of his time with us on the sideline, what a waste and a shame. Lets hope you are right about Chris L and we can get him back to his former self (as a player) once again this would be a waste of great potential if we don't :exclamation:

tuqiri's only problem when playing with us was that stupid arm guard he was wearing.. every time he tried to catch the ball it would bounce straight off it. everything else was ok before he had it.
