I'm pretty sure Chris has his own business as a personal trainer. The bloke would know his own body more than anyone, and I'm sure would be doing all the extras to try and get himself right.
I've said this before and this is from the man himself. The problem IS NOT his hip injury. The problem is his hammies. He now struggles to stretch out and gain speed, his agility and lateral movement has also suffered big time, he's told me this himself. I think he may need to decrease his weight to get back to his best.
I got a bit over defending him this year. But I think a massive reason for some of his form is due to the blokes he's had defending inside and outside of him the last few years. He's had juniors playing next to him for years, Koro, Brooks for eg. And had to cover their mistakes if they rushed up and in.
In attack, he also hasn't had a lot of great ball. We all know Chris runs some of the best lines at the club. Benji threw him balls when his opposite was already in Chris's face. In recent seasons I've noticed he's had to run over guys to make a break, because he seems to be playing in very limited space with no room to turn the defenders inside out and gotten no good early ball.
Chris is one of the strongest and biggest hitters in the club. If he can't manage to get his speed and agility back then an edge backrower may be the move required.
I've always had a soft spot for Chris, hate bagging the guy and hoped he would get back to his best but I'm really not sure anymore. It could go either way because of his injuries. Id be prepared to see how he goes for another season before I completely give up on the guy.
