Chris lawrence

If Chris Lawrence is going than good luck to him.
I think injury ruined his career.
He started in 1st grade young and gave some great displays over the years.
Well done Chris Lawrence.

Hopefully this is all wishful thinking about the possibility that Chris L will be asked to depart our club.
He seems like a great bloke, and I would like to see him as captain, if the deal with Robbie F goes ahead. Good luck Chris.

Both Lawrence and Halatau will be at the club next year….
- It's Rd 25, If they were going anywhere we'd have heard by now.

Halatau doesn't have a contract. He definitely could be gone. I would definitely sign him.

I just told you they'll both be here…..

Thanks for the info. With all due respect but I don't trust random comments on the Internet. I hope you are right though.

The way Chris L conducts himself on and off the field is commendable. To be honest, it is the way a club captain should behave. There has never been a whiff of controversy surrounding this guy and he has busted his backside to be the best he can be given his physical condition.
He stays out of the politics that inevitably raises it's ugly head around organisations such as football clubs, and concentrates on what he is paid to do - play football.
To my way of thinking, he is a genuine leader who would do the club proud.
I hope he gets his chance to not only stay at the club, but to lead it - regardless of whether the current captain is kept around the joint or not.

I'm staying at Wests Tigers: Lawrence

Wests Tigers veteran Chris Lawrence has guaranteed he will be at Concord next year despite speculation the NRL club is looking to offload him one season before his current deal expires.

Rumours were rife mid-season that the 26-year-old was set to get the tap on the shoulder from the Tigers due to growing salary cap pressures.

However it is skipper Robbie Farah that is now set to get pushed out in a move that would leave Lawrence as the oldest player on the roster next season.

"Next season I'll be at the Tigers," Lawrence declared on Tuesday.

Rowdy would do a great job as captain. Also just saw young Sirro's interview on the WT website. Extremely impressive. Looks like future Tigers captain material to me

Just listened to the video from today and someone should show it to Robbie because that is how a real leader responds and deals with the media but also with contract issues. It is clear during the year the same could have happened with Chirs and the difference with how its dealt with is a world of difference. Not only should he stay but Chris should be appointed Club Captain for next year. Not necessarily team captain as that requires perhaps different skills but he is a wonderful representative of ur club

While Chris Lawrence continues to be linked with an exit from Wests Tigers, Market Watch is hearing the opposite is true.

With another year to run on his deal, we understand the Tigers are exploring the option of extending his contract in order to spread out his $500,000 a season deal.

Under the new proposed deal, the Tigers would pay Lawrence around $300,000 a year over a three-year period which would see him finish his career as a one-club man.

On Tuesday, the 26-year-old guaranteed he will be at Concord next year despite speculation the NRL club is looking to offload him.

“Next season I’ll be at the Tigers,” Lawrence declared.

This is exactly what should happen with Lawrence. He is only 27 I believe.
He has been going well in the back row and next year he will be better with less interchanges. He is just overpaid kind of like Farah its not his fault.

But if Lawrence is supposedly on 750K next year is he honestly worth that much ? I personally don't think so, so could next year be his last ?

Lol read a little closer. The deal the Tigers are looking at means his contract for next year will be REDUCED as part of a package in extended his contract a further 2 years.
