Chris McQueen signs - Official

Not overly excited… potential plodder

not a plodder. He is what we need - an 80 minute workhorse patrolling an edge - better than we currently have so its an upside

Cant have 13 superstars (unless you're a bronco or roorter)

Don't think that signing solves any deficiencies in the backrow other than experience

Really? So who are the 80 minute consistent performers running the edges at Wests Tigers?

The waterboy and the magic-sponge guy.

McQueen is a good signing for a good price, happy to have him in our colours. Welcome aboard Chris!

And he doesn't seem like a limelight seeking drama queen like plenty of players who have graced our club past and present. That is a MASSIVE plus. No nonsense, get's out there and does his job without the fuss. Just what we need. A couple more like-minded signings like this and our club will be very much heading in the right direction.

Hope the change to the south still has him playing his best football. We all know what happens when that happens *cough Blair cough*. And let's hope it plays really well and we lose him through all of origin. Albeit I think Geo noted we had selectively good 'byes' this year so may not be too impacting.

THIS

mcQueen isnt going to turn us into top 4 on his own but excited to see him play next to ET. Similar ethic. What we need.

Hopefully McQueen can return to the form of when he was at the Bunnies, not really impressed with him to be honest, when was the last time he broke the line or charged into it and caused enough damage to create second phase play? Happy to be proven wrong.

My one query is at 30 years old, the deal is for the right duration, but will he still manage to bang out 80 mins until he's 33?

He's the right type of footballer as others have noted - strong, good defender, consistent, experienced, fast enough for a backrower. I think it compliments ET nicely, he's bigger whereas ET is more mobile, but we need several guys who can tackle hard all game, it's often been a weakness of ours.

In attack I'd say he's competent rather than dynamic.

Very pleased with this. Now a strong aggressive prop to give Woodsy a hand. Looking good.

Yes indeed! Now if we can just get someone like Matulino or Asofa Solomona onboard to bump up the prop rotation, I'd be very happy

He has played some really good games this year, a couple of weeks ago he started at backrow and got moved to centre through injuries. He made quite a few line breaks, was man of the match.
