Chris McQueen signs - Official

Hooper just reported on Fox Sports that we have offered McQueen a 3 year contract for $1.4m.

How can McQueen even consider maybe coming to the Tigers if he doesn't know who the coach will be going forward???

I would just be happing with a coach going forward, better than backward or sideward or worse round and round and round!

He will be on the wrong side of thirty for being on that money.

Also, he might be on $250K year one, $450K year two and backended at $600K for year 3.

A 33yo second rower on $600K? Have we not learned anything?

In that case, at least we're now sure the Tigers won't employ Mr Hokey Pokey as coach!!

Yep, pretty hard to argue with that.

He wouldn't turn 33 till literally the last month of his contract. This side needs some hard old heads.

That's too much money for McQueen in my opinion.

It's only slightly more than Suli will be earning.
In 3 years time I'd probably rather Suli,. It at the moment I think I'd rather McQueen. Hard decision but I don't think 1.4m is overs.

He may also be getting $600k first year, $600k the second year and $100k the third year.
$100k fir an origin backrrower!!!! That's unreal! !!!

Yeah Nah Origin McQueen hasn't played in years..that's like saying 300K for Kangaroo Rep in Rowdy is cheap….

At least we are being mentioned in the Market for players outside our system which is good...

Would prefer Kane Evans over this bloke,,

I think weve learned we have to pay overs to get anyone established, weve nothing else to offer

Completely agree there is no value in giving a 3 year contact at his age imo.1 year with options in our favour is the sensible course

Oh yes that's very sensible, I'm sure established players will be falling over themselves in the rush to take up such irresistible offers :unamused:
