I feel for the guy.. hope he gets in a team like bulldogs.. perhaps he could make a barber like resurgence under des.. Eels would of won with him in team today. Looks like parra giving him cold shoulder Wonder where he will end up?

Hate that smirk on his face when he plays , like he's something he's not . Speed bump best describes him

Parra always make Sandow the scapegoat when they lose matches - he deserves better. Their problems are all over the park, it's not just the half's fault. I think they need to look a lot deeper than that.

hmmmn…. better retract that first post

but the guy is a germ who should have been rubbed out of the game, instead some of you feel sorry for him... the irony

That's my thoughts too Flip. He hasn't played badly this year. Maybe it's off field stuff, we don't know about yet.

Never understood the hate
He's cheeky and clearly just loves playing footy
Has had his off field issues but always manages to get back to footy and I admire that.
I agree he deserves much better than the way Parra treat him.

Why should he be " rubbed out of the game" as you put it?

His long stint at Wenty a year or two back was disciplinary, and not just a minor stuff up, if there was any integrity at all within the code, he should have been banned for life as others have been.

BnW, you must be refering to his gambling problems at that time.

Gambling implies you run the risk of losing your money. So, he didnt have a problem gambling at all.

Nathan Hindmarsh admitted he had a gambling problem the same as sandow where he would throw money through the pokies like crazy

Should he also have been rubbed out of the game ???

Please think before you type especially when talking about a topic as sensitive as mental illness

YES..problem Gambling can be a very serious mental disorder no matter what salary an individual is on.

He wasn't gambling on NRL matches, so NRL shouldn't hold that against him. 700k a year is plenty of pocket change for pokies.
Without him Parra lack attack. Not his fault the club decided to pay overs for him. That may be his undoing eventually.

Geez BnW that is very harsh if it is related to his known problem or are you implying fixing?

As I type and our boy sleeps with dawn approaching, his mother is pumping money from the sale of her deceased parents land away, most likely on the roulette table. It is a disease that tears families apart.

Luckily my father used to work very hard and long hours to help support us, along with the TAB and his SP buddies. 2KY radio station was a source of constant annoyance when growing up.

When the camera was on him yesterday whilst playing for Wenty - you could see the shame and sadness in his eyes.

Absolutely carved up reserve grade.
He is too old to be acting silly, really hope he gets a new NRL deal and gives it his all.
Don't need another, "could have been…"

I don't mind Sandow , he just isn't making the best out of a God given talent

Some footballers would kill their own mothers to be blessed with some of Sandow's skills

He gives heaps back to the game , every post season he plays in the Indigenous Cup up in Ipswich

But he carries a few extra kgs and slacks off when he needs to be working harder

He's settled down a lot, i agree Demps. Loves and provides for his
four kids and just adores his mum. We all make mistakes in life and i know every action has a consequence, but it seems he has gotten help to deal with his issues and it shows.
Like you, i hope another club picks him up, as he's a good player and a good person.

I fear after his footballing Career is over that he will lose everything that he has made, money wise.
A gambler will always have those Demons in your head.
I hope he can make something out of his life cause to me it seems he has taken things for granted one to many times.
He needs to buy himself a franchise and get a good Manager to Manage it or learn how to Manage it or a small business. I doubt he would want to get the books out by the time his in his mid 30's and get a Degree in something.

He desperately needs a Career advisor IMO
