Yeah because players never ever break contracts

They can't break it and play for a rival club in the NRL without a release. He won't get a release.

Who ever thought Taupau ,Austin ,TMM ,Blair alone would get a release

What about Proctor ??

Doesn't take much to be honest ,right offer ,right time ,right reason

They're all players who were entering the final year of their contracts and had signed with other clubs for the following year. If we approached him in 2019 and signed him from 2020 onwards then sure, he might get a release to join us in 2019\. He's not going to get a release years early though and I'm not even sure we're allowed to talk to him about a contract in 2020 this early…

I think you are arguing with a plank…You are 100% correct Clubs can not enter into negotiations with players until the final year of their current contract...

I guess players can request releases prior for what ever reason but I haven't heard Gutherson is unhappy at the Eels...maybe happy knows something other don't..

Happy, I'd take him as a 3 quarter, not keen on him as a half.

Maybe as a running 5/8, as he looks ok with Norman next to him. The issue is with one injury he is left alone to the run the team, which he can't do.

Name any side who can survive without their No 1 playmaker for any length of time

Canberra did ok when sezer and Austin were missing last year. I'm sure the Bulldogs have won games without James graham
But I get your point, I'll rephrase my view. Not a half, and wouldn't want him as one. Good player in the 3 quarter line to fill in at 5/8 in a pinch. I'd honestly prefer JLJ to partner Moses.

I'd love James Graham at the club

Gee our players would learn something and if they didn't I reckon Graham would drag them out the back of the dressing rooms and treat them like a computer

Punch the info into them until their memory worked

He seems to be happy with Parra and going well.

If he wants to win a premiership he should have his manager on the phone to nearly any other club. If I was a doggies fan I'd be a little worried about this year. Could be wrong, the nrl is a strange comp.

If we are not going to re-sign Brooks, play Moses at half and sign Jack Bird.
Knights have offered him $900k for 3 years that's the same sort of money Brooks wants.
Bird wants to play either 5/8 or Fullback, let him play 5/8

Where did club, Brooks or his manager say he wanted 900k or there abouts? Please show me where I can see or hear this. You can't make this stuff up you know.

Jack Bird is not worth anything like that either imo.

That's the figure that has been bandied around here and on other forms of media.
With the salary cap increase that pretty close to what he will be wanting, there's no need to get your nickers in a knot just because someone on a Forum mentions something.
Forum a medium where issues or ideas can be exchanged.

Thats right, the story was he knocked back $650k, wanted $800k, he isn't worth $650 let alone $800k, so chasing Bird is a good option.

Jeez I hope Russell doesn't read your post!!

Russell already hates me because he loves JT and I have absolutely no time for the coach.

Last laugh on him after yesterday, like Percy from the Green Mile said "dead man walking dead man walking"

Let's just sign James maloney

Is he off contract? If he is he would be the man I'd be making a play for. Proven match winner. Crucial to both Easts and Cronulla's premiership campaigns.

He's not but as happy says what's a contract these days…

I can see a plethora of players asking releases from their current Clubs to join the Wests Tigers in 2018 ..the only way is up ...baby..

Anyone with any idea about footy could see JT is not a head coach, the smarter ones picked it early or even before he got here, the compassionate ones gave him some time to prove me wrong, then there are the rest.

I wouldn't pay that for the two of them together.(brooks&Moses)
ive had big doubts about both since they arrived , and see nothing that would make me change my mind, seems like a few others are starting to question the unwavering support
That they've been getting. It's time that they show something or let another club get saddled with them.
I' still would like to see Brooks in a game with a different 5/8\. As I think he'd be a lot better without Moses there.

A man can dream Geo.

The club should make reasonable offers to Woods, Moses and Tedesco now, with a timeframe on take it or leave it, the offers to reflect the fact that none of the three are as good as they think, in fact i almost left Woods out.If they leave it, no big deal, plenty of other players out there with pride in their jersey.

Tedesco is worth every cent. He can't do much when the rest of the team doesn't aim up.
