Club Statement - Tedesco and Woods

Bulldogs will look to offload Hoppa, Mbye, Eastwood, Kasiano & Graham. Problem is I would only look at Graham, Kasiano (if price is ok) Hoppa (center, price and void Sunday).

Cap space yay….No Idea if you can not retain your best players..It does not matter how much money you have to spend when you shop at Go-Lo it just means you can fit more crap on the bus...this re-build will come from youth and journeymen...

Bad look for the NRL when they have a salary cap in place to keep a level playing field and in the last week three of the strongest / wealthiest clubs in the game have literally shared the four best available players on the market in Bird, Tedesco, Foran, and Woods.
In doing so they have disenchanted a large portion of their supporter base.
Why dont the media write a truthful story about that instead joking sbout the about the "salary cap sombrero"
There is nothing about the events of the past week that is useful in growing the game its just made the divide more obvious.

This is so right. But really when has the nrl ever cared for the average punter

Time to back up a dump truck full of money and unload it all over Shaun Johnson's front yard. We could sign SJ, Matulino and Lolohea.

Let's gone Warriors!!!

Let them chase the money. The elephant in the room is how the tigers treated Farah after his loyal service and that his sacking must have had an effect on the young 4 to not be loyal to the Tigers. Lets start it all again with some players that have a bit of fighting competitive spirit not these Ego gliders,

They may aswell pack up the tent now if that's the strategy. Sell the license and cop the cash.

I don't think that is why they left.

But in saying that it is so sad to see how Farah was treated and how he reacted and then juxtaposing it with these 'heartless 4'.

Farah was pushed, bagged and kicked out of the club and he choose to fight for what he loved. In the end he lost and moved on.

These four were given anything and everything they desired, the big dollars, a new coach and the promise of making this club great. They threw in the towel and moved on to something easier. Leaving behind the club that gave them everything.

They know what mess they've left this club in but I don't think they care. Cowards.

Agree completely with you. Loyalty is a 2 edge sword. Tigers did'nt show that to our longest serving player, why should these players do so ? Club allowed pathetic coach to get his way after they had agreed to let Farah play his 250 games & then move on amicably in 2017.

Good riddance to them all. The club is bigger than any player, that said i will not be renewing next year. Not because of anything the Tigers have done, if it were i'd be gone long ago, it will be for the reason someone said previously, we have a salary cap but if as soon as you develop a decent player and all they want is to go to one of the big four and the NRL does nothing to stop it then whats the point?

There are other much more well organised sports that I and my family enjoy. I will be using my membership money on them. I have followed the club since inception and been a paid member since 04 but this is it for me. I will keep an eye open on results but will not pay or travel to watch any longer.

Life's too short.

I would still like Robbie to come back at some stage and play three more games to become the first WT player to notch up 250 games. It would not do any harm if done with goodwill on all sides.

**"Wests Tigers Suffer Double Blow, As Woods, Tedesco Sign With Rival Clubs**

Report just in.

Just Now
Wests Tigers Suffer Double Blow, As Woods, Tedesco Sign With Rival Clubs
Aaron Woods and James Tedesco will be leaving the Wests Tigers after signing deals with rival clubs, reports The Daily Telegraph.

It's understood skipper Aaron Woods will join the Bulldogs, while fullback James Tedesco will link up with the Sydney Roosters.

The Daily Tele are also claiming the Bulldogs have signed troubled NRL superstar Kieran Foran from the Warriors.

An official announcemnet will be made shortly.

The Tigers have now lost three of their so-called "big four" after Mitchell Moses signed a three-year deal to join Parramatta for next season - a situation that is disastrous for the joint venture.

Woods' signing has clouded the future of the Bulldogs' pack, particularly skipper James Graham, who is off contract at the end of 2018."

Untrue? No source

At this stage looks like management prioritised the wrong two blokes.
I agree with Happy in many ways - the pointy end of our club has a lot to answer for about these signings and so much more.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

But in reality Moses was never going to stick around long term.

As supporters we have to trust that Cleary has a plan and with the number of clubs about to run into cap trouble, will be able to target the right players to come across to Concord.

I really dont care any more about these guys. I only now care that Cleary makes the decisions who he wants to recruit and we are smart enough to get rid of the dead wood.

THIS.
I don't believe we would be seeing Tedesco or Woods leave if Robbie wasn't leaving.
Maybe punting Robbie was right, I personally think they should have retrained him into another position.
But end of the day you have the club building up 3 young players to be a spine. They try to instill Loyalty, but fire Farah and turf old guys on the street. They then pay OVERS for Brooks and Moses. When DCE was at Manly on $80,000 were paying Brooks $500,000.

If the Robbie saga was handled better, the guys would have learned Loyalty and a role model to follow. Instead we taught the guys ca$h first!
Yes, there is a money component, there is also a Loyalty component as well. We saw Tedesco buck Canberra for less money to stay with his mates. We need that, we cannot outspend the clubs like Dragons, Manly and Cronulla who have more money then us (disagree? ok now think of the clubs with MONEY).

We need to set the tone for the future. Do we build culture and family structure where players want to commit to WT for life? Or do we get the calculators out, look at statistics and punt someone if there a % below their dollar value? We will need to do both but lets hope we get the long term view back and make WT special.
