Is there any chance the COP could be waived and that they would announce that at least one is staying tomorrow?

It is an interesting one isn't it. I mean if they are leaving then the club announces that tommorrow.

However if they are staying then in fact they can't announce that tommorrow without waiving the cooling off period which if they don't then the players give themselves 10 more days effectively to make a decision and the ultimatum is buggered for at least 2 more weeks and we have 2 more weeks of all of this.

So what do they do tommorrow if both are staying - just say nothing ?

I guess no news is good news.

For the first time since this saga began this forum may actually be hoping for no updates on tedesco

During the press conference Ivan looked…almost upset. Coupled with all the background noise and the fact we have placed a deadline on them on Tuesday but only announced it today, I'm pretty sure they are gone.

Didn't look upset to me. Looked pretty relaxed for a bloke who is trying to sort out his playing roster for next year and beyond.

Yeah have to agree for someone who has walked into the furnace I think he is handling it very well, just picture poor JT right now if he was trying to put some pressure on the players, it would look alot different I reckon.

Seriously given Woods conduct during the last few months and his obsession with football/fridge/horse whisperers I'd be relatively happy for him to move on and get a captain who gives a crap and a prop who is better value for money. My biggest gripe is he's going to a club who must already be spending close to $3m on props. I'd rather him go to someone like Newcastle.

Who cares. Let them squander a million dollars.

The point is when you have no salary cap and unlimited funds there's very little squandering.

Looks like the bus is departing at 5pm tomorrow all aboard that want to before Ivan shuts the door.

Makes no sense. If it was a given they were leaving, why not announce that they have withdrawed the contract offers today?

Fair enough. I read the comments and was very please/impressed. Just seeing him speak seemed to be a funny tightness around the mouth.

Don't get me wrong though guys, loving Ivan thus far.

Its exciting knowing that by this time tomorrow all of this will be sorted out. I'm just so over hearing about the 'big four' and their contracts.

I'd say the club would request they waive the COP if they decide to stay. If they say no then the contract is retracted.

It sucks we ended up in a bidding war with the Roosters for teddy, no chance we could offer the tpa's the roosters could.

The saddest part is that all the backers of the chooks, even together can't match the wealth of a single man reputed to be WT backer and our number one ticket holder, yet what does he provide? Sweet chose your own words comparatively for mine.

This is the final boarding call for passengers Teddy and Woods booked on bus 2040\. Please proceed to gate 3 immediately. The final checks are being completed and Ivan will order for the tickets of the bus to finalize asap. I repeat. This is the final boarding call for Teddy and Woods. Thank you.

Great statement as the Roosters and Dogs may need to shed players. It forces the inevitable.
Cleary provided 2 weeks for a decision last week so he is showing how structured and methodical in his process he is.

My gut feeling is Tedesco will stay and Woods will go.

In the big scheme of things, that' s the best outcome.

But the complicating factor is them both having the same manager. I just hope Tedesco is as smart as I think he is and that he can disregard the advice from his manager due to the obvious conflict of interest he has in this process.

And, that same gut feeling is telling me that the filthy hands of Benny Elias is not far from all this controversy. Elias (related to Mitchell Moses who is related to Isaac Moses) has been party to the complete demise of the Balmain Tigers part of the JV, along with the tawdry work of Nick Di Giralimo and others of the Obeid clique. Allegedly, of course.

Good on you Ivan Cleary for calling a halt to it. It now comes down to the test of character and the moral compass of Tedesco and Woods. I am more confident with James than the other clown.

But, I could well be wrong.

The club will have to say something tomorrow, they've already put themselves in that by default. The players need to give an answer tomorrow, and the club has said they will tell the remaining playing group and the public as soon as this happens. I think that's the point of the deadline, they want certainty by tomorrow. I'm not sure of the legal conditions etc. but if one or both happen to re-sign, the club may say they've re-signed, but have a right to a cooling off period which they've taken up. I doubt that will happen as I think they're both gone though (and the club may already know this).

Chris' point is interesting though. I don't know Teddy may not actually have an offer on the table.. I guess that would only be waiting on an official gesture though. May already know the terms..

One way or the other glad to see an end to this mess. Sun will rise and as they Thats my team ! On a side note Great to see the Nofsta resign. :sign:

Thats assumimg its about money with Teddy. The offer from us was very generous. He has said all along he wants stability and to play finals footy - l believe him.

Well im happy with that call
We cant be stringed along just because the players want to play hard ball

I dont care we lose both but it will be at our terms
We havent had that sort of strong leadership in years so good on them for finally putting the foot down

Apologies if this has been asked.

Does this mean as the players have been given a deadline of tomorrow we will get an answer either way, tomorrow? This will be interesting, if its yes they are both staying great move on but if not we will now find out who they are going regardless if its inside the 10 day cooling off period. They will have to declare where they are going otherwise the speculation train just keeps rumbling on.

edit: sorry Sco77y just seen you have asked the same thing
