Robbie Farah was signed by Steve Humphreys and Nick Di Girolamo on $950,000 for the last two seasons (which is absurd) and they were sacked. They also signed Chris Lawrence at $650,000 and he wasn't performing. It's not in JT's interests as coach to inherit these kind of long term problems, but he has dealt with them while moving the team forward.

The club has been very accommodating regarding Farah over the years, to the point where two previous coaches were moved on. That simply can't happen again. JT made a judgement about Farah's benefit/worth/influence on the team. He did what he thinks is right and as coach will live or die by his decisions. Let's not forget in the last 3 seasons of Farah's captaincy we finished 15th twice and 13th. This season we won more games when Farah didn't play and we played for a finals spot for the first time in 5 years.

JT also re-negotiated Lawrence's future and has him contributing more to the team. I think he deserves credit for dealing with these problems, which he didn't create. He definitely deserves to see out his contract and with these problems resolved, I'll be surprised if we don't make the 8 in 2017\. I hear Kidwell is gone and also the club will re-sign Elijah Taylor. In 2018 we will have more $$$ to add to the roster.

On the bandwagon. Taylor has a contract, has turned the boys club around and is heading the team towards a cultural change. Still a bit worried about our roster, but no excuses. The eight or preferably better next year.

I am not that surprised.

If he had just coached the team without running his mouth it might be more in his favour.

Over 100 votes , 47 to taylor (44%) , 59 for someone else (56%). So slightly more people dont think he should be here next year. Very interesting…..

According to TT, wasn't JT's KPI to get the team in the 8 this year? He didn't do it so where is the accountability?

The statement about Taylor's third year being linked to a KPI of making the 8 this season is to the best of my knowledge only ever been written on this forum…....by anonymous posters. Boards usually follow contracts, not Internet forums.

I can understand if you think that Jason Taylor deserves another year, seeing as our position on the ladder is improved from last year. But, I have serious misgivings about his ability as a coach, and on balance I think it would be better if we replaced him now.

His part in the RF affair did him no credit. He came across as a dictator, not a leader, and definitely not a manager of a team. One of his main jobs was to create harmony in the group and get the best out of all the players in the squad. He ran a personal vendetta against RF and drove him out of the club. In return for what? 200K and the proof to everybody else that he was boss. This is what the club will take into its next contract negotiations with Moses, Brooks, Tedesco, Woods and so on, who have had to watch a great player be put down and be treated with no dignity or loyalty. They can be expect to be treated in the same way if they displease the coach in some way.

It is seasons end and the coach has still failed to find a role for Luke Brooks. This is what is at the heart of the problem with Brooks' lack of involvement. He has no role to fulfill anymore.

Last Sunday was the classic moment for Jason Taylor to prove that he had the qualities of a coach. A place in the playoffs, a packed Leichhardt Oval, the hype and excitement - all that energy to muster and inspire a group of young men to produce their best, to fight to the end. Canberra have a big and fast team that would be a great challenge, so I wasn't surprised that we lost, but the way we capitulated by half time. It was a disgrace and the coach has to wear his proportion of the blame. I really doubt that he is capable of inspiring, of lifting a team above itself.

So I hope that we find a new coach, as soon as possible.

Agree 100%, we can't afford to sit on our hands now after what the team dished up with a top 8 spot on the line in the last 3 weeks, we have a host of players off contract next year and we need to move now not round 12 next year.

JT is certain to be Tigers coach in 2017, if TT says otherwise then I wouldn't put much stock in what they say. But I'd suggest JT's future beyond that depends on him at least making the top 8 in 2017.

A similar poll was done here a few months ago with the result being 80% wanting Farah gone.
It was rubbished by a few with their reasoning being that it wasnt a big enough response to fairly represent tigers fans.
It seems they are happy with this poll tho.

I dont recall hearing or seeing this until i joined the forum. And from what is in the media (not that they are to trust) it sounds like he will be there next year.

i still think that they would have sounded out coaches during our losing streak and had a real solid opportunity come about the headlines might have been different. if they didn't id be surprised - its just good business and thats what they are.
