Coach Benji đź‘‘

Benji is the Laurie Daley of coaches. While we should be eternally grateful that he delivered this pathetic club a premiership as a player, he is tarnishing his legacy by continuing as a coach. He turns crap players into pathetic ones. He has no game plans and cannot motivate his players, relying instead on individual brilliance from his playmakers.

The nicest thing I can say about Benji is he's not the worst coach in our history - that accoldarde goes to Terry Lamb. But if he sees out his contract, he could eclipse Lamb.
Brilliant comparison you nailed it

Perfect example of great players not being great coaches. Sterlo said he would prefer his legacy be of him as a player not as a shit coach which is why he wanted nothing to do with coaching after he was hounded for years to be Parramatta or nsw coach.

Benji has to go, there is no other option.

He seems to have his clear favourites because gargbage like Seyfarth, Madden, and Geyer would never have been afforded as many opportunites at other clubs as they've had here despite all the crap they've dished out on the field both this year and previous years.

It's baffling that Latu hasn't been given a shot in the halves this season. Madden was handy early in the season, but he's had the attacking prowess of a weak cup of tea lately.

The only break you can cut Benji this year is the amount of injuries we've had. But given we've had 3 pec injuries in poor tackles, can those injuries be attributed to poor technique and coaching?

Injuries aside his bench rotations have been horrendous. Selections have contradicted what he has said about accountability and our gameplay has violated the standards he preached at the start of the year faster than he could lower them.

I love Benji, but I thought at the time he was appointed he won't be the one to fix the joint and I feel the same way now.

Benji says week after weeks of losses that it comes down to him and how he prepares the team for games. He can drop players but how does he hold himself accountable and what are the consequences of the poor coaching performances. It feels like fluff. I had faith in Benji but it’s wearing this right now.

I think there's too much butthurt tonight and not enough calm thinking, but it is painful to have Benji start to turn a corner, then it all falls apart midseason, same as every other season.

I don't have the answer but lots of coaches have achieved the same fate at Benji 2026.
How many of them got a 4 year extension?

Its just lip service they have to say something...post match pressers are a waste of time
Losing fans listen and feel empty
Winning fans feel warm.and fuzzy.

Short answer is he doesnt hold.himself accountable...when he is sacked thats when he will be...same for all coaches.

Weve painted ourselve into a corner with his ridiculous extension which was nothing more that a pr stunt
