Do we keep Benji as our coach if we do not make the top 8 in 2026 ?
We cannot continue with season after season of failure, but if we are being honest we still do not have a top 8 roster, is that the fault of Benji or Richo or both of them ?

We need somebody to fix the bloody defence .We led 28 to 12 for crissake.

He's trying to end on a positive note to fire them up next year. Showing he cares about them. It was smart.

But if there is some truth to it you have to get the balance right and read the room, useless leaving all the effort on the training paddock.

Kind of gives you Madge vibes at his worst when he was at Souths.

interesting thing is I think he is closer to the Bro cuzzies at Manly than the non-bro cuzzies. Hamuole and Latu have always spoken highly of DCE....I do wonder if he scraps the idea of playing another season and moves straight into a halves coaching and media role. I would not mind having him coaching Latu to play 7.

Can’t really say at this stage I think …. Need to see who else falls into their laps during the offseason …and then how they actually play throughout next season


I see this quite a bit about Cronk …. Why would he want to come here ? I don’t see either giving up their cushy media gigs to come and slog it out here to be honest

Cronk worked with roosters this year I think and still had his media gig.. the same way Ennis does at manly... He can still do both.

KPP should help the right-side V, just need to fix the right centre position with a new recruit or training all summer on defense with what we have, Toa needs to get better his defense is a mile off at times.

Ive been Benji's biggest advocate, but if we don't make the 8 next season then he should be on the outter..

Fast forward 12 months and imagine we are playing in round 27 and need a win to make the finals.. if we toss up what we did yesterday, then he has to go...

Agree. He just doesnt have the options though. Who else is there? The only other option would have been Tristian and then shuffle if there is an injury.

Its a depth problem, not a benji problem.

Obviously it depends on where we finish outside the 8 should we miss the 8 again. If we finish 9-11 next year I think he’ll be fine, 12-13 50/50 but if we’re bottom 4 next year he’s gone.

Could be waffle or maybe he brought forward the plan post bye and said we need to pick up our standards heading into off season so the players knew what was coming.

Either way if anything it says he acknowledged that our training methods for the pre season and most of the year weren’t at a high standard - that’s the biggest concern for me.
