He basically said in the press conference that they knew and trained for what the roosters were going (and outlined it) to do but they didn’t do it.

I've got no doubt he's right too

Madge has some massive issues on his hands.

Yep. Our go forward looks good but our attack is non-existent.

Our go forward today was shocking.
1 forward made 100meters, the roosters had 7...
The forwards didn’t roll their sleeves up when we needed them.

We look good for 20-30mins and ran out of puff.

Madge talked about defense... we have had good defense for 60mins of 160mins. Our tatics with the ball in hand are absolutely killing us.

Our metres were low because we didn’t have the ball. Team with all the ball gets the metres. I thought the forwards were mostly pretty good but when your half just kicks the ball away and your outside backs refuse to tackle, this kind of thing is going to happen.

True, but the half has kicked poorly forever now and Madge keeps building the game plan around him.

There comes a point surely where he has to say "mate, you can't have the ball at the end of sets".

Brook's stats on forced drop outs last year were terrible...and his assist numbers were lowest of any 7 with more than ten games. This is easy to work out, but Madge seems to not adjust. Brooksy can run the ball in broken play, but he simply can't control plays 5 and 6 and the team is sinking as a result. Like you said, the pack is being killed as they work and work and then have to sprint back and defend 20 meter restarts. Other packs get a set or three to rest when their half controls things.

Well, then I guess we can turn this topic around to read "Are the players playing for this coaching staff?"

Eggshells maybe?

I think it’s more that we have just enough terrible players that it brings everyone down.

Brooks is a classic, he is supposed to lead you. The team gets us into position, waits for the kick and - 20m reset.

This playing for the coach stuff is just something the numpties at fox/news bring up to get a headline.

There is no desire. Where is the rage to make amends when we make a mistake. The bottom lip comes out and it’s curtains.

Why was Liddle off the field for so long?
That is a terrible coaching decision

But Madge can't win, last week everyone was saying Liddle is not an 80 minute player and it was a bad choice to leave him out there...

Then Madge needs to understand the flow of a game.

Last week he was struggling and needed to be replaced but not this week.

Who's to say he wouldn't have been knackered like last week...

Then give him a break but don’t leave him off for 40 minutes when he was playing so well.

Bunch of overpaid sooks

It appears that most successful clubs study the opposition in the week leading up to the game and put strategies in place to beat them at their game. Do we do this? Doesn't look like it or do we capitulate as soon the opposition scores a try against us. We play like chooks with their heads cut off, no structure, no composure, no leadership, no resilience.

Maybe he only played well because he had more limited minutes? It's the only change and he performed much better. He also went off with injuries as well.

Whatever madge does he can't win!

It’s not a question of tactics. It’s a question of roster depth and what we do with it.
Depth is having an Animal like Sebastian Kris waiting to cover centre. It’s not having Talau or Chee Kam as our back up options. This rot is going to take years to fix.

Been hearing this for a decade

Have we fixed the problem yet?

It’s not tactics it’s just poor play. Brooks, BJ and Kepoa need to be dropped to NSW Cup.

We have to bring in players and give them a crack as I said before we will no or make finals this year. We won’t beat the top teams at all.

Agree. Brooks execution compounds things.
At one point he ran the ball on the last than kick. To me that showed his confidence was shot which in the NRL is waiving the white flag. His effort was there today however compared to last week but he just isn’t performing at an NRL halfback level for over a year now.

Maguire...we need to own it,we need to be better for longer parts of the game, more resilient.Sick of hearing the same crap, this is his team,he has the players he wants and has chosen.

We won't beat anybody with performances like that

The top 6 teams are a lot better than the other 10 teams.
If we beat the other nine then we will make the eight.
I don’t think that is good enough to just make up the numbers but it would be a good start.

Agree, but we don’t need to beat the top 6, we need to beat the rest?

Just need to get into the 8 this year imo.

The first 4 games are the hardest draw you could imagine, so if we can survive not being too scarred, hopefully it will make us stronger?
