Collis - Officially GONE

I actually think this is one we will regret! I wasn't worried about Johnny Morris, Peni Tagive, Bronson Harrison etc.

Dean appears to be a confidence player (much like Benji). He seems to need game time to be at his best and his injuries have not helped. In saying that, i think the acquisition of John Morris actually had a negative impact on Dean as the service he got was mediocre at best. Also Benji has kad the tendency to drift across the field effectively giving Dean little space when he did get the ball. An attack that plays more direct would probably be to his benefit.

If i did have a criticism of Dean it would be that he did not get involved enough. He tends to be content to stay in his centre position and wait for the ball to come to him. It is a bit dissappointing given his obvious talent and class

He had so much potential but did not deliver. It is about time Sheens moved some of these guys on.

Good luck Dean. I hope we beat you in the 2010 GF.

I don't know how Sheens can be responsible for Collis' poor form? It was confidence/attitude more than anything IMO. Too often, like some others in the team, goes for the big play.

Re his goal kicking, I believe after he did his knee he gave up kicking? May be wrong though?

Gee he's missed some footy though. Even Benji has played more first grade games over almost the same amount of time… that's saying something.

Unless this is another salary cap or injury issue, unfortunately neither of which we are privy to, I find this surprising and very disappointing. While Dean has had a bad run with injuries, he is a talent when fit. Given that he is still only 23, I worry that his best football is still ahead of him and that Cronulla will benefit from this in the way that the Raiders are benefiting from Bronson's tremendous form this year.

I'm not slating the decision because im not aware of all the facts, but on the surface its a great pity

his last good season was 2006 so i dont mind that he is going. he has had his chances. ayshford is going well so i think he took collis' spot. im very disapointed we let peni tagive go 😢

The Tigers have made the correct decision in not throwing money at Collis in order to keep him at the club (in my opinion). He has not produced the required form in the last few years to warrant being kept on. I am aware that he is not the only player that has been disappointing, but this is at least a step forward.

Dean may very well turn out to be a classy player in the future, but it is not worth the gamble. Our money is better spent on a classy prop or half.

I am not a fan of this move. Collis is a very classy centre who had no luck with injuries. When fit he was a strike centre and very capable defender.

The club seemed to stick with other players who have had an injury history. Why not Collis?

Ayshford now looks to be a centre next season. Leave him there and play Collis in reserve grade.

Who delivers you're mail? Weren't you the one saying Collis was staying put at the Tigers?

All I'm saying is that it is my understanding the Club were hoping to hold on to him. This was not the situation they wanted. Up until very recently he was staying.

As far as I'm concerned now,it's the very best scenario for him and he deserves the success that will come to him next year. It is absolutely criminal to take on a 16 year old Australian School Boy and then diminish his confidence and game by putting clowns in the halves for the last 3 years. They've done it with Lawerance as well, only he has TNT and not Crab Man outside of him. Like I said, I think Stuart and a different training approach will be just what he needs.

No need to worry about my mail mate,my posty is rock solid!

oh well bye bye dean no 1 whens the other one going? i have a sneaking suspicion kapow is next to sign elsewhere

Hope your right, and Ryan goes with him.

I'd like to see "Halatau - Officially GONE" or even "Payten - Officially GONE." Been passengers for way too long.

i'm happy with the decision.
he has shown that when he doesn't get good service he is inneffective in attack.
lawrence on the other hand can create something out of nothing.

why pay the extra dollars for collis over someone like ayshford.
spend the money on props who can keep us grinding away while we look to find a halves combination.
once we get that right we can start looking at spending dollars on another centre if our juniors can't cope.

My mail is that it was purely for the money, Cronulla must be splashing it about or our offer was less than satisfactory

Yep - I like Collis but we need to spend big where its needed and we get the most impact.
