Con of the decade

Potter was getting some thing from the younger guys that certainly Taylor can not , it was a shame that Farah thought he could not coach.

I still think both our guys are talented, but comparing them to the equally young Broncos halves Milford and Hunt, it's chalk and cheese! I guess it comes down to the coaching and on field leadership.

I just cant wait for the excuses to stop and the real 'talented' players to bob their heads up.

-Their only kids. Well they both have 1 year of NRL experience or more in Brooks case.
-Its Taylors instructions that are holding them back
-today with the instructions of let loose and play what you see, its the forward pack that is the problem

Brooks has had 2 years and still nothing. Moses has 1\. If they both don't kick on next year, I would have someone in the ready for both their positions to start playing at the end of the season to bring them up for 2017\. I might even give Brooks a go at trials and actually have to play better than player X. If he doesn't, then I would cut him. 2 full seasons is plenty.

I have had enough of the excuses, but am prepared to bite my tongue until before this time next year.

Outside Teddy they are still the most likely to lay on a try or score one so I am willing to give them another year before I start ranting. What was concerning tonight was how sloppy they were with their passing, at NRL level playing in the halves you have to be able to throw a good ball and catch anything that comes your way.

moses has really grown on me. his backup play is excellent and yes, he was in had nofo passed.

brooks has gone backwards. dont know what is going on with him, but moses improves each week.

Their passing game has been terrible SC. Maybe i could handle one of them having a bad passing game, but both of them? God help us if it doesn't improve :astonished:

I think he needs to improve TS. Both his passing and kicking game.

I think Gus hit the nail on the head when he was speaking before the game. These guys _are_ talented, but they are very young and haven't had any proper leadership, on or off the field, since coming into grade. Left to their own devices, they really are too impatient at times. They have to learn to stop pushing passes that are just not on, it kills us every time.

They get a six again count and then push it through the backline giving the winger absolutely no room to move and he ends up getting thrown over the sideline on the first tackle! That's really dumb stuff - it's like having 3 Benji's in the team (Tedesco is just as guilty of pushing these passes also).

yeah stuff like that helped kill us, our poor attack helped apply more pressure on our defence….........this is how things were between '07-'09...................except without the potential talented halves

By all reports, they are overpaid for where they are at in the careers…. I have very high interest and belief they will both be great players.

Mitchell will play a lot of Rep Footy in 2-3 years and Luke is destined to play 250-300 games in the NRL.

It will happen!

Last week we snagged a try of a Moses pass that would qualify as the forward pass of the year. Then soon after, same position on the field he did it again. ( wasn't so lucky that time ) He just doesn't learn from his errors

Why , have they been promised that too ???

Flip, it also comes down to the fact that Hunt was already established and knew his role in the team and was playing extremely well BeforeMilford was slotted in to learn his spot. Not both at the same time. This club just keeps making stupid decisions like that
I really thought that Taylor would be great for the halves, but he ( and the club) could prove to be career killers for both of the kids

Hunt is 4 years their senior and he played a few years at 9 to settle into the team.

Milford is a very good comparison, considering they opposed each other in the SG Ball Grand Final. There is 2 obvious differences though (i hate excises) as Mitchell spent virtually 9-12 months on the sideline while Anthony had opportunities in NRL 2 years prior at Fullback.

Mitchell was impatient last night. He created a few errors, but was still consistent behind a beaten forward pack. He is ahead of Luke, but that doesn't surprise me.

Agreed Brooks is almost 5 years younger then Ben Hunt. If Brooks was 3 weeks younger he would still be eligible for the Under 20s this year. At the same stage Ben Hunt was a bench hooker who had played less first grade and wouldn't play halfback in NRL for another 2 years.

Brooks this year has played 4 less games then last year where he won rookie of the year for the NRL and already has more try assists and more line break assists and scored more tries then he did last year as well as being in the top few for each of those in the NRL despite being in the wooden spooners.

Hunt at the same stage of his career was playing 20 minutes a game off the bench at hooker, At the same age Thurston was in his second season with the Dogs and in the halves had played as many games as Brooks this year but had only 5 try assists and 5 line break assists v Brooks having 13 and 8\. Daly Cherry Evans the $10 MILLION DOLLAR MAN was 2 years away from playing first grade.

So those who are saying Brooks won't make it would have been saying the same thing about Hunt, Thurston and DCE in fact they were even less likely
