Outside Teddy they are still the most likely to lay on a try or score one so I am willing to give them another year before I start ranting. What was concerning tonight was how sloppy they were with their passing, at NRL level playing in the halves you have to be able to throw a good ball and catch anything that comes your way.

Their passing game has been terrible SC. Maybe i could handle one of them having a bad passing game, but both of them? God help us if it doesn't improve :astonished:

i think moses has a good passing game…

I think he does too Mate.

I think Gus hit the nail on the head when he was speaking before the game. These guys _are_ talented, but they are very young and haven't had any proper leadership, on or off the field, since coming into grade. Left to their own devices, they really are too impatient at times. They have to learn to stop pushing passes that are just not on, it kills us every time.

They get a six again count and then push it through the backline giving the winger absolutely no room to move and he ends up getting thrown over the sideline on the first tackle! That's really dumb stuff - it's like having 3 Benji's in the team (Tedesco is just as guilty of pushing these passes also).

i am thinking, after getting martin to penriff, is gould now after moses and / or brooks with his recent comments about these two.
" come to penriff, we know how to look after you. we have a great coach etc etc "

Fitzhenry of course

So and so did this, such and such did that, but I can't name any in the modern era that started off with bang playing in the halves and continuing to improve.

Many ended up in the halves after a long apprenticeship or playing elsewhere in the backs, however excelling when starting out there is another story, with Lockyer and Johns great examples of both paths.

DCE ??

But your right it will be a learning curve for both of them

I wonder who most people are more concerned with of the two ??

2 months ago I'd have said Moses , but I'm more concerned about Brooks now

He just seems to not be in control of the game and at stages seems lost

No, but 21 games for NSW and 16 tests for Australia is a pretty good return wouldn't you say? (Quote)

When he was 17 or 18?

Or do you mean when he played x amount of games, allowed to mature with experienced players around him.

Theyre developing.

Theyre not first graders yet.

Theyve had to develop the hard way, thrown in the deep end…both rookies both have no guidance, at a club that uses junior development in this situation as desperation rather than patiently letting them come along at their own pace, they have a coach with little idea and most of their team mates are average

He hit the ground running as a school kid and was playing for state and country as a 21/22 year old.
Your post inferred he never amounted to anything.

Obviously every case is different, but I don't see why you have an issue with people holding doubts over our halves at the moment. They're struggling, plain and simple.
WT have gambled on these two, and given our precarious cap situation we aren't really in a position to gamble poorly.
All our hopes of turning the club around come down to these two to a pretty large extent. I think people are more than entitled to be worried given neither is progressing as we'd originally been told.

Maybe I should have added youngster. Didn't the ten million dollar man play a season or two in QLD cup before NRL?

Good post Ink, that's exactly where they're at
A lot of posts have mentioned Hunt, Milford etc. they were gradually putting them into selected games for quite a while, Milford was up and down for a whole season with the Raiders, he was dropped quite a few times after having weaker games , giving him the chance to work on problems in his game , without the pressure of first grade.
Dropping back a grade isn't always a punishment, but can be a chance to regroup and come back a better player, this club has certainly made it harder for them.

Taylor would understand himself about the problems of being a youngster in grade

He would of been only 19-20 when he debuted at a guess

I know he debuted the weekend of my 21st party

He's a commentator , he's paid to comment on games and players,

Qld Cup Player of the Year, Qld Cup Rookie of the Year, Qld Residents Captain in 2010… Pretty impressive start to the career behind Trent Hodgkinson.
