I'm tipping both to go on further in 2011\. Obviously some very smart and astute people within the rugby league fraternity has already realised Roberts talent by picking him in the Emerging Qld Origin Squad… (go on...)

This mirrors 2003 to 2005 - in 03 under Sheens for the first year he debuted the likes of Farah, Halatau, Marshall, Fulton, Gibbs, Collis, Heighington & even Covell (who had a top career for Cronulla given his speed)! In 2004 - Harrison, & Lima debuted - while we recruited Hodgo, Princey, Spud, Patty & Toddy - amongst others!! The only additional recruit for 2005 was Whatuira - and we won the fricking comp!!!!!
Sheensy then gave us Tuiaki for Richards in 2006 - as well as the likes of Saffy, DeGois, Flanagan etc - but along with Nella - he debuted a kid by the name of Chris Lawrence (and recruited a big red-head kid called Keith - who was struggling for confidence after the other head-hunting Hoppa debacle)!!!
This club has been a great breeding ground for young footballers since Sheensy arrived and stopped the rot!!!
Ummm..WATTO …why wouldn't they..the kid is what 20/21 and almost slayed the Dragons IN A PRELIM FINAL...

The Magpies had 3 Queenslanders in your prior history Geo - Lindner, Tronc & Steve Jackson (the bloke who scored the OT try for Canberra in the 1989 GF v Balmain)!
Balmain had Rod Morris & Greg Oliphant as our only Maroons scumbags!

Beetson was an EEL when he played Origin Watto!
I wasn't bagging Queensland my brother (my biological family reside in Toowoomba) - so I have to be one of the few who have an excuse to switch - but I was locally born and raised in Balmain, NSW and remain staunch to what has been a lost cause for the past 4 years!!
As for Balmain's contribution to the NSW Origin cause over the years you have the legendary: Junior Pearce ©, Sirro, Blocker Roach, Jimmy Jack, Benny Elias (c), Timmy Brasher + David Brooks & Bruce McGuire!! (8 including 2 Captains))
While the Maggies boast NSW Origin reps in: Bob Cooper, Garry Dowling, Cement Gillespie, Baa Baa Lamb, Jim Leis, Paul Merlo, Terry Hill, Jason Taylor & Ken McGuiness! (9)
And the JV has - Farah, Hodgson & Hill for NSW (so the slant towards the First State is retained)!! (wink-wink - I'm too old and jaded to use emoticons)!
I'd love to see Lui as a Qld Origin rep from the Tigers - in all sincerity - that would give our club yet another dimension!
In regards to the rep player stats from our founding clubs I also find it interesting that in the international arena Wests have 41 Australian reps to Balmain's 39 (it is so close that it is irrelevant & makes the JV seem even more equitable)!
NZ Reps are even closer at 4 a piece - (Wests have: Kearney, Horo, Stuart & Tuuta - while Balmain have: Filipaina, Freeman, Faimalo & Lowrie)!
WT have had 7 Kiwi internationals in 11 years (i.e. Tyran Smith, Lowrie, Halatau, Harrison, Whatuira, Tuiaki & Marshall)!!!
