Sheens is going to coach souths thats what i heard and also Benji and Lawrance is going over in the next two years Sheens has been offed a 4 year contract at $450k a year and Russell will pay Tigers 250k to buy out his contract and Royce will take over on two year deal and Folkes his right hand man thats what i hear from a guy who played for the dogs in the 80's i dont know if he s*****g me but he seem quite shaw of it

when Tim Sheens does finally retire from coaching footy he would be good, as an administrator to help promote the youth of the game.

No?
Yeah…you did.

Like i said i hear alot of gossip but most stuff on this site is …Thank you for the quote from before BUT did you hear the one about Greg Inglis going to play for Brisbane i did i heard it was a done deal and now he is playing for Souths things change very fast in league dont take things so SERIOUS

Also BRETT FINCH that was all but a done deal coming to the Tigers as well and at the last moment it changed

I'm keen to know what people think about Sheens position at the club after last season. For me seeing the Tigers perform the way they did and finishing where they did despite using 32 players in the season was a real testament to the coaches with the club and the systems we have in place.

Surely Sheens would be the man behind much of this….

Very excited for the next few seasons and unlike after 05, I'm excited because of the depth we have and not the 'ability' we possess..

Maybe now we seem to have things in order he feels comfortable in leaving when things are smooth, as opposed to leaving anythime during 06-09 when it just wasnt happening.

I really can't see that though Ink… I think the story is fishing. Just wouldn't seem right seeing Tim coach another side in the NRL.... Although the same could have been said for Bennett i guess...

In any event, I hope he goes nowhere... while i get frustrated at times with selections he is still the only person I see coaching the Tigers..

I'm of the same opinion. Sheens is a league junky and will coach for as long as he can still stand up. In saying that, while he enjoys the support of the players, he'll be coaching the Tigers.

i think sheens has over-stayed his welcome…but he has shaped the club nicely over 9 years and i think 2011 should of been his last as coach here

TC - how has a bloke who took us within one point of a GF "outstayed his welcome"????

He has had to again re-shape our squad after his previous failures - and has done so magnificently with the likes of Ayshford, Dwyer, Fifita, Brown, Lui & Moltzen becoming key members of our squad in 2010 and beyond!

His recruitment has been very solid to excellent - with Ellis & Lote better than anyone expected when announced!

His capacity to maintain a good off-field culture at the club has been enormous in the context of our spruiking for sponsors!

And his special ability to coach a specific game-plan for finals performances was evidenced in all three of our semis this year (despite the two close losses - and fair criticism of his bench management - our game plan was near perfect in all three games and if the gods and refs had favoured us - we would have made - & won the GF!!!!)

The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence - and the simple rule of both business & sports administration is that you NEVER replace an ASSET unless you have a DEMONSTRABLY BETTER OPTION!!!

We all get frustrated at certain selections + use of the bench - but he is a better coach than any one of us could even aspiure to! He is also not a young man and he loves the Tigers (just as he did the Raiders)! I cannot see him moving unless the Board turn on him - and Trodden will prevent that!

Superleague effectively moved him to Townsville (and bought his Magnetic Island mansion - in which his wife and kids still live)! He knows that experience (despite the money) - all but cost him the ability to re-find employment within the game he loves!

This club resurrected Tim's career and in turn he resurrected a club that was heading to oblivion at the time!! We have a mututal debt - and I assume there is already discussion of a succession plan (a'la the Swans) - and that when the time comes for Tim to stop coaching - he will remain available as part of the club's brains trust in a reduced capacity)!

To me - that is the best option!!! (And he should have a shot at a premiership or two before that)!

he had to re-build from HIS previous failures….dont forget that... when you weigh it up we have 2 great seasons 7 very poor seasons...its unbalanced to the enth degree...he still makes rookie errors in his selctions aswell...and an unmatched stubborness when it comes to certain players.... i think sheens has finally built the right nucleous but seriously...you throw enough darts eventually you will hit the bulleye mate....

No doubt… for what its worth i am not having a dig at Tim at all... I think he's a great coach and done wonders with this club and for that I will always support him, although my faith did start to dwindle in 09....

In his defence both the 06, 07 and 08 seasons hit us hard with injury and the loss of our key play maker in 07 was always going to be tough. I am a huge fan of Morris; just like everyone else though, not in the 7 jersey. Mind you, having no consistency in the halves didn't help Morris at all. From different pairings and with Marshall's injuries and inconsistency on field he really struggled for rythmn.

09 though was very disappointing for me though… we just seemed to go missing and only played well when our backs were up against the wall which reflects more on players attitude than Tims coaching.

Sheens faith in Morris was a mistake, however replacing someone of the calibre of Prince is no easy task and there are MANY sides missing a key half... This year was a rebuild... Tim cut alot of deadwood and turned it around very quickly... the signs of a GREAT coach imo.

I am pumped for next season... we are the ONLY side who hasn't brought a sole for next season and are one of the favs to take it out next season. For me that shows signs of a strong team and more important a strong club... no doubt the result of many individuals and their hard work, but it's happened from the lead of Sheens.

The only way I can score tries in that game is from chip and chase in my own half haha I gave up pretty early though…
